I am not rubbing it in, but to transfer online a huge amount of money, even not meeting up with the scammer face 2 face, raised many red flags.
Its like buying a BMW but done online, you dont get to test drive.  After payment, we will sent the car to you.  rclxs0.gif
So, can you throw at me rm500 bucks ???
*
yea maybe i am used to large amount money transfer so i didnt really feel suspicious about anything. Note to self now, a seller is only as legit as his last transaction.

500? why not double up? you help me dig the fella out, i send you his workplace address, at BM jalan Kulim, i will reward you accordingly dry.gif

google bro, the price reflects the condition of the watch actually, since its a preowned piece..
its saddening to know this... guess I can only rely on kpdnkk's paper judgment and the scammer's clemency  sad.gif
before my confrontation, he actually has 3 ads going live. Once kantoi-ed and being cornered, he deleted all listings and went mia.. gotta be patient and wait him to post shits again to pull off the Plan D..

I know how that tag looks like. I meant, you mentioned it looks off. I meant, pictures of the fake watch.

You have his name and work address. Why not pay him a visit after MCO? For 2 grands it is worth making a trip up.

Alternatively if you don't want to make a trip up tell him you have his address and if he doesn't return your money you will get some toughies to pay him a visit. Hopefully you can scare him enough to return your money.

If you file report at  kpdnkk or Tribunal Penguna, you must fill out the forms plus receipts or money transfer statement and whatsapp chat texts in your record.

Now here comes the hard part, a copy of this report must be handed over to the so call scammer of which he/she needs to sign of receiving this report. So may sign, some may not.
The court will fix a date, if the scammer no come, you win the case but the court not going to get the money for you.
End of the day, why the hell didnt you go to a store to buy this branded stuff ??

You got so much money izzit.

Can you throw me rm500 ??

I agree, when it’s too good to be true it isn’t. Take it as an expensive lesson!

If there is something you want from a direct seller and you don't feel comfortable banking money into his account one way is to tell him to register online as a seller in Lazada or Shopee, post the product and send you the link. You get protection as the platform will only pay the seller after you receive the goods. If he refuses move on.

afaik Shopee charges 2% fee so unless u willing to bear the charges i doubt seller would.

If B2B (business to business) they probably will ignore u cause too much hassle. and many reasons more.

It's better to pay 2% more than to take a 50% risk of being scammed.

toughies probably cost more money than the watch itself lol. Yea paying him a visit could work but he could be living in denial or simply ignoring me, so wouldnt make a trip up until i have something solid.

yea for preowned piece, its slightly cheaper than market rate. He priced the watch at a good price, giving a false representation that its legit preowned watch. New one need 6k ++

the thing is this seller is actually fine with COD, he has nothing to hide. And he is certainly not a serial scammer. He sold over 50 stuff in past one year and even rolexes. My main takeaway from this lesson is a seller is only as legit as his last transaction. Now its tough time, he resorts to scamming cuz he needs to put food on table.

exactly mate, if I am seller I wouldnt put myself in such position too, giving IC deets and all, so much complications.

and if the buyers are nitpickers, they can easily open a dispute or scam you back by swapping your legit stuff with fake stuff and return you.

Nothing complicated about registering as a seller on an online platform. I've done it just to sell one item. Why shy away from giving IC details if you are a genuine trader? If you are willing to pay the platform commission and seller don't want to do it can he be trusted?

If the seller was fine with COD why didn't you pick COD? Some sellers say they are fine with COD just to give you confidence but will find some excuse to back out of doing COD later. Did you get caught like this?

Buying from direct seller by banking into his account first isn't worth the risk. I would say 50% chance of being scammed. Would you go out if you have a 50% chance of getting into an accident on that day?

yea next time i will try to be as fussy as possible, or just simply refrain from any online deals.
