Hmm, later versions of Sony phones still got random reboots? That sucks, iphones and huawei from p20 onwards hardly have reboot issues. I am surprise too when you say iphone screen replacement is the cheapest one. I thought iphone should be most expensive.
Most flagships like Oppo, oneplus even samsung has bigger battery and 12GB rams. I certainly don't mind the extended warranty if any. But at least in jb, there's almost no center for official phone repair. If got problem they will take your phone to don't know where to repair. I think they banking on the fact their products hardly breakdown.
Let's see what freebies they give. If useful stuff like premium noise cancelling ear piece plus other good stuff, I might consider going back to Sony since Samsung is a no no for me (bad experience with Note2 and non Snap Dragon) and Huawei now almost as good as dead without GMS. Either Sony or I am jumping to iphone, make that big painful switch. At least iphone guarantees 4 cycles of major software upgrades. Use for 3 years or more.
so far my Xperia 1 and previous Xperia do not have random reboots issue.. I guess its due to sim card detection issue?! Sony device will reboot after u unplug the sim card or reconnect Sim card..
iPhone screen replacement is the cheapest one.. resolution low, less model, bulk order on screen parts by repair shop.. many ppl willing to repair iphone cause 1 spare part use for few generations.. last time i replaced 1 rm300 for iphone 6 plus.. A+ screen..
12gb RAM is a hype where u dont ever need that.. but yeah consumer always feel bigger/more is better.. it's welcome feature.. I am willing to go for Sony last year due to no notch, no punch hole on display.. last year only few devices do not have those (asus rog 2 (hands-on and it's too big & heavy), xiaomi 9t pro (not fancy to sliding front cam, but recommended to my family members & friends), sony xperia 1/5..).. i used P20 before which i feel a bit distracting to me.. however, it is basically personal preference.. Samsung flagship actually quite attracting except exynos itself.. not much issue in daily performance, but battery life is not good based on my real friends experience (S20+ & S20 Ultra). i do have some screenshots from them.. Camera is too artificial/prefilter looks.. somehow all Youtubers love it so much.. (LOL to me).. The reason i said it is attractive due to samsung pay..
iPhone is a good buy actually.. Just because i am prefer widget in android.. i have spent a lot of apps in iOS actually back to iPhone 4 and 5 generation with iPad.. even Papago i also do purchased.. not sure whether now still valid in Apple Store.. And im used to dual sim in android (but now iPhone support eSIM too).. Probably i will go to iOS in future when they remove notch and add back fingerprint scanner.. face ID is a troll to me..
Im okay to pay for flagship price.. but also will consider on my usage pattern.. minimum 2 years for usage if possible.. made a switch from P20 to Xperia 1 due to front camera of P20 & video stabilisation triggered me the most.. Other than that, P20 rear camera and performance are satisfied.. however, now new huawei device without GMS will not in my option list.. =)
