Most HK taxi driver are rent the taxi license. Had to pay few k per day and got renting hour. That why TVB drama always can see those taxi driver rush back to return car.

Yes this. 20K in HK is roughly similar to RM2k worth of purchasing power in MY.

OK

But the spending power of the HK salary is much much higher. Their income tax is only 17% max.

bare in mind HK practice freedom of trade , there are noting call price control means shop can free to up price even for basic essential item like rice, flour, sugar, cooking oil, Oil and gas product etc.

this is why HK ppl very pressure not only work pressure buy one can sardine also pressure need to go few shop to compare price.

there is good and bad

like face mask when we control the price our mask not enough to sell because the earning profit not big shop dun want sell it, but at HK the shop can free to put the face mask price even it is 10x higher the price, but HK never not enough face mask, it is just only very expansive. HK are suitable for rich ppl to stay, they focus to attract rich westerner to go invest and stay there.

Yes. But there is a lot of competition. So no problem to get competitive prices.
Important you have spending power. Then you can choose to spend or not.

In Msia, max tax is 26%. Almost 10% more!
Lowest income in Msia vs that of HK? It is really 3rd world vs developed nation! laugh.gif

So HK police base salary is HKD 20000 per month. How much Malaysia police earn?

Fuhhhh Hong Kong police seems rich jer.

If you compare back to Malaysia police, i think HK police salary scale pretty well compare to average HK citizen.
