Police got housing benefit and alot of benefit. Did you factor those in compare with police in Malaysia? And with police salary in malaysia, can they leave a good life??

Don't compare an advanced nation with a 3rd world nation.
HKPF was one of the most corrupt police force in Asia before ICAC was established. One of the reason there were so much corruption is the police force salary was too low. They have no choice but to act like "licensed gangsters".
There are so many movies about the corruption of HKPF. I think the best is the one where Andy Lau acts as Lee Rock/Lui Lok. The newer version with Donnie Yen, Chasing the Dragon is not too bad too. Another memorable TV series about a character base on Lui Lok is Kenneth Tsang's potrayal in the Greed of Man. If you remember, he was the corrupt cop where Ting Hai goes after in Taiwan.
Lui Lok is the best example of corrupt cops in HK. He is also extremely clever because he managed to escape to Canada before ICAC was established. Then he migrated to Taiwan and HK could not extradite him because there were no extradition treaty with Taiwan.
Even then the ICAC was reporting directly to the Crown in UK. The team was made up of personnel from UK, Canada and Australia. It would not have worked with local HK staffing. System was just too corrupt like some nations now.
bare in mind HK practice freedom of trade , there are noting call price control means shop can free to up price even for basic essential item like rice, flour, sugar, cooking oil, Oil and gas product etc.
this is why HK ppl very pressure not only work pressure buy one can sardine also pressure need to go few shop to compare price.
Yes. But there is a lot of competition. So no problem to get competitive prices. Important you have spending power. Then you can choose to spend or not.
In Msia, max tax is 26%. Almost 10% more! Lowest income in Msia vs that of HK? It is really 3rd world vs developed nation!
at city center can go up to 10k HKD included food but not include place to stay even the 20k HKD police need to find a place to stay hostel are limited to apply queue long long time
there is McRefugees in HK thouse earning 10kHKD actualy not enough to rent a room to stay, so sleep at 24hr McD.
In every city, there are always these homeless people. That includes Malaysia.
so earning 20K HKD u will feel like earning 2.5K in Malaysia cannot direct convert the currency, unless u earn at HK but spend in Malaysia , this is why Malaysia has more and more HK ppl , they living here but still can manage their works and earn money at Malaysia so they feel good.
The only HK who lives in Msia, do not work anymore. They are quite wealthy. Not the low t mid class. Where did you get that?
