Retail selling Rolex at X amount but grey market is selling higher than retail. Current pandemic is unprecedented situation where cash is king. Do you think grey market will reduce selling price to cash out?

Those are prices they put as retail, probably only know how low it can go when you decide to negotiate with them..

Agree to dissagree. You See its all about people perspective. Rolex is the brand name that people buy as it is already accepted the whole wide world. Thepublic acceptance makes the prices higher the marketing can push and pull all they like but if people do not accept it as brand name it won't reach such steep price.

So the development of brand name really sells by itself and people acceptance just pour fuels to it if not more.

Rolex are the Seiko equivalent of the Swiss world when it comes to vertical integration. They are fully in-house with even a gold foundry on their premise to melt and make their own gold cases and bracelets.

Their watches are all chronometer certified which means an independent body tests and certifies each and every watch to be accurate within chronometer specifications. So how is that not accurate for a mechanical watch is beyond me.

The caliber 3135 was a 30+ year workhorse in-house Movement featuring microstella free sprung balance, with instantaneous date change mechanism that can be used anytime without any restrictions unlike most other movements which forbids the user from quick setting the date between 9pm to 3am or 6pm to 4am in Audemars Piguet 3120 found in Royal Oaks. The 3135 also features a Breguet overcoil hairspring.

And don’t get me started on the Sky Dweller which is a highly complicated watch (would qualify for Grand Complications if it was made by Patek Philippe). The watch features 3 complications - The Ring Command Bezel, Annual Calendar, and GMT.

Rolex is the brand that new collectors and casual observers love to hate. All serious collectors including John Mayer and Hodinkee respect Rolex a lot.

I dont think so. The market is still hot as the current pandemic is mostly impacting on tourism.

from what I seen, the price of grey market just went up again hahaha

my friend wants to sell his sub, wonder to sell to individual buyers or to those second hand watch shops?
shops sure take a huge cut right...?

Still going up for rolex. Other hot brands like GS will go up too as investors are looking for safe investments as FD rates going down. Rolex steel sports model will never go down even if buy high. Can still sell for same price or higher. Watch out for Tudor too.

Knn. Now all steel watches are trending up again. Rolex Steel sports model premium is now back to precorvid levels.
