i have not exercise for few years and recent mco give me some chance to start work out. the first few days i start can feel my muscle sore which is good cos means my muscle growing.

but after a week i don’t feel anything anymore. i did push up and stuff until cannot go anymore so just no more strength to continue. but when i rest no more the sore muscle feeling.

means my muscle not growing after workout is it means my exercise is not efficient? what should i do?

Muscle soreness when you first started working out is normal because your muscle is suddenly sent into shock from the sudden workout.

Overtime your muscle started to get used to it and the soreness went away. It's completely normal. It doesn't means you aren't making progress.

Don't worry, keep going smile.gif

It means adding weights progressively after each successful session.

Also, don't do that. Muscle imbalance is a real issue.
It's recommended that a beginner starts by doing compound exercises (Exercises that use more than 1 muscle group) as you can lift more weights and train more muscle in one session.

Find a good program and follow it.

there are few type of progressive overload. not necessary only add the weights
- increase the reps
- increase the sets
- cut short the rest time
- change the order of your workout
- change routine

you like to see yourself chest bigger doesn't mean you can neglect other muscle part. like RyoKenzaki said your body will imbalance & look weird later. you can do chest workout more frequent but try to include back and legs workout into your routine. then slowly include shoulder, biceps & triceps. focus on big group of muscle first.
The ratio is like Chest : Other muscle part = 2 or 3 : 1 wink.gif

Not everyday.... You need to rest one day before hitting the same muscle group again.
Your muscle needs to rest so that it can grow properly.
Overworking will only induce injuries...

push up for your own body weight is not heavy enough to strain your muscles. if you are a reasonably fit person, it won't help you to grow even if you do 100 push ups daily

correct . at best you will only maintain your current mass. impoosible to grow using pushups.

Yep, like only 1 set allowed per exercise per person and cannot exceed 8 reps.
