I had alot of encounters since I was a kid. But I will never forget my first encounter. This happened outside my house, it's a single storey terrace house built in the 80s. That house had a huge drain right outside my house perimeter. So it went like this, my opposite neighbor came over to have a chat with my mom at the house, I remembered it was 11pm. They were hanging out at the living room with the front gate wide open (it was still considered safe to do so those days) .So me being the naughty 7 year old kid went outside the garden to play. Then I felt the urgent need to "Go". I felt being lazy to go back into the toilet at home and taking the easy way out, I went out of the house to take a leak at the drain.

If you remembered some of your old folks will advise you to ask permission before you pee at any unfamiliar places outdoor. So there I uttered the words in Cantonese "jie meh oh liu" translated to English is "excuse me, I'm going to pee"and began my business into the big and dark drain. So you imagine my shock and horror when I immediately heard a reply back from the depths in the dark monsoon drain. "Or liu~~" (Pee in english). It was a raspy old man's voice that replied me.

Shocked as hell, I immediately ran back inside my house with my pants unzipped. Haha.. My mum and the neighbor were amused why I had a panicked look when I ran back. I did not tell anyone about it until I was already a working adult.

So it was embarrassing, funny and scary at the same time, to think about it. Probably that "being" living down there had given it's permission to me. Lol.
