My FIL had been seriously ill for a number of months and in the past few days prior to the "weird" incident, he had been sleeping without waking up at all. At this point of time, he was also in my in law's house under family and hospice care. He was definitely nearing his end.
I live about 20KM away from my in laws. And during this period of time, I lived alone as my husband would stay in his family's house off/on to help take care of his dad. So one day, I was walking my dog in my neighbourhood, and we were arriving quite near the park. However, just about 2 feet from the park, my dog suddenly starting barking at a banana tree + big tree which was planted at the edge of the park. She stopped walking and didn't wanna get nearer.
This has never EVER happened before. My dog is an extremely chicken-scaredycat-ball-less kinda dog, and she seldom barks, except for 2 occassion... 1. when there's a cat, rat or other animal lurking outside my house and she's unable to get to them OR 2. when i've left her outside and she wants to come into the house. Now, this was about 645/7pm and it was still quite bright. I didn't see any animals there (i tried looking for tupai and other small snimals i may have missed) and any humans were more than 10 feet away from us.
She started pacing and was still barking at the 2 trees. BUT it was very diff from her way of barking at other animals (like wanna attack kinda bark) and it was certainly diff from her "alert u" kinda bark. I could see that she wasn't staring intently at the trees (the way she does when i hold her off from chasing a cat) , but she was looking kinda like under-eye (indirectly) way. So it crept me out, right... i decided to walk to another jalan and my dog stops barking.
But after a few steps, i wanted to test her again (to see if i was just paranoid)...so i brought her back to 2-3 feet away from the trees... and she starts barking again at the 2 trees! At this point, i was getting the jeepers creepers man!
However, because i was afraid, i asked if he could just spend that night back in our house, due to what I had experienced. He obliged. That morning, at about 6++ or 7 am, his sister called to say their father had passed away.
Coincidence? Or not?
PS: Since i was young, i've had unexplained incidents...and sometimes i thought i saw something at night/driving alone etc. But I've always brushed it off/ignore. My mom thinks she's got the 6th sense and sometimes i do too. However, this incident was by far the creepiest-in-my-face incident. I know my dog very well, she's been with me for 10 years. I can tell what her barks mean. Since that time, my dog has passed by those same 2 trees many times, and not a single bark from her.
