Yup pre-record. That's a good idea, but how am I going to zoom in and out smoothly ? Because u need some kind of tool meant for zooming in using the lens right ?

no you don't need to able to zoom in smoothly. just imagine this, referring to your video posted.

@11:29 - framing A with pastor speaking
@11:31 - enter into PPT slide
now you can change the framing you want since no one can see it at the final output. they will only listen to the sound.
@11.47 - back into Pastor speaking. but you're already in another framing (either you have already zoomed in, or out)

First off, is this a paid job? I am a christian myself and honestly speaking, will be shocked if I am doing this as a blessing and yet got belittled by pastor. I hope he conveyed it in a more harmonious way.

Anyway, if you really want to go creative in this, I would suggest you to add some artificial movements in your post process. That's what a lot of youtube vloggers do. i.e. when they wanna emphasize on certain things, they crop in.

if you wanna be even more creative, probably set up a secondary cam to shoot him from the side, or focus on catching some B roll footages (which I doubt is much useful since its an empty hall haha). All the best!

I'm not a professional or videographer here but my company is shooting our e-Learning video by us (a group of workers who have no experience at all prior to this). You do not have to zoom in and out when you're doing the recording. Leave some space around when you position your camera for recording and you will be able to do the zoom in and out or maybe positioning the speaker to the left or right when you're editing.

What we do with the limited budget given is to use an iPhone for another angle.
