thx for the tip stasio, i was thinking last time how did i see my VID...... cant recall it, must be getting old already
haha, well it have a while since i last use core temp, i use riva tuner instead for hardware monitor with plug in to record the temperature graph........
few days already i didnt on my pc........ let me try to use core temp and see when i get home.....
actually i would live to stay in 3.0ghz, but when i play supreme commander forge alliance the cpu is bottlenecking in some games, therefore i force to push higher to get the game smooth going.....

btw 3.4 ghz is suffficent for me, temp also much lower compare to 3.6ghz........ i think i have max out the HR-01 ability, cant maintain below 60oC at 3.6 ghz.
btw anyone uses q6700 ?

congratualation bernardryan, u got a good processor there.... hard to get this kind of processor. Try run orthos or OCCT for an hours then u know how good it is.
intel recommended temperature is around 71oC rite, so as long as you run it below the max threshold then it should be ok.

DS3 vdrop so serious ?? i tot my DFI is the only 1 plague with such problem. for the current setting shows 1.48 in bios, cpu z 1.488 ( dunno why the heck it is higher) and loading time 1.477.
well for 24/7 use, 1.45 v core is still ok i think, but mine only use like 1 ~2 hour daily only, so no worries to go higher abit
OC guide? try read vrforum, there is a very details one there.

well kmarc that vdrop is below 1.5v vcore, after that hehe.... it goes exponentially until 1.525v setting, i see only 1.472 only under load.... vearn27, here is the link http://forums.vr-zone.com/showthread.php?t=159210 , i dare not said the best but got quite some details and screenshot to refer for beginer. but not much details on setting like xs does. Ezonizs , it difficult to get such a good processor, may be u can get some 2nd hand 1 that is proven with low VID around 1.275 or lower then u can get 3.6ghz @ around 1.45v easily.

[gs]JackMin, ur voltage setting for other like SB, except cpu is rather high, i dun believe u need that much running 350+ fsb....that why the temp so high, may be u try to up ur cpu & cpu pll voltage a bit
ur ram got EPP, u cna run at 400mhz at 4,4,4,`5 timing @ 2.0v so should not be a problem, try lower the voltage, btw good proc u got there, VId kind of low
my previous reference for 356x9 is around 1.35 or so only.... my proc vid is rather high

is ur Xigmatek install correctly, temp a bit too high.
well u can check ur stock voltage when u installed everything at default.
i believe u can push more once u get the cpu temp down abit

see what kind of games u play, mostly dual core with higher clock speed give u more fps.......
but some games are getting into quad core too, but utilization still very low. but u get 2 more core to do other stuffin the background

bryanyeo87, i was refering to 3.2Ghz only........... and the voltage is just merely for reference. Most G0 Q6600 can do this, but it also depends on mobo too. some older chipset p965 has difficulty handling 400mhz fsb.
btw kmarc, hows the folding result from ur Quad ? thinking of making a folding rig with micro -ATX board

icic thx for the link........ , suddenly i discover i have some interest in making a fold rig haha.....
now still consider optimize my selection, whether to go for CPU or GPU folding.....but all micro-atx casing so small cannot fit in full size graphic card. headache again
