PS3 60GB +2 SIXAXIS @ RM1690 in SG.Wang.

Its kinda cheap IMO, though the seller looks.... well... u know, suspicious or something. Well actually majority of the shops in sg.wang is like that, but I happen to pass by one on 2nd floor which actually sells quality stuff.

Don't know the shop's name, but the place is pretty deserted. Its located in the alley or some call it "lui-yan kai". Their prices are a little bit steep though.

Using the PS3 on a 16:10 monitor will cause the image on screen to be stretch(or pulldown) slightly. Doesn't really make much of a difference though unless you place a 16:9 and 16:10 monitor side by side to see the difference.

For the love of god, there are NO MODDED PS3s yet. Atleast from a mod-chip standpoint that is.

The PS3 40GB versions are already using 65nm chip-processing for the Cell. When the RSX will follow to a 65nm process is another question.

Next year perhaps, don't expect it to be too soon however.

As a matter of fact, they aren't making profit based on PS3 hardware sales alone. They are now solely relying(I'm talking about Sony Computer Entertainment group here) on the PS2 and PSP as profit from hadware sales.

So yea, they gotta rake some profit in soon from the PS3.

Got my PS3 40GB ceramic white yesterday at RM1820 from keane of SCE. Of course added with DMC4, 2x Dual Shock 3, and HDMI cable.

Look back at the PS1 and PS2 when they came out here, took them years before they even reach the 1.3k mark.

Few months ago, I was surveying around SG.wang for PS3 prices. So I stop at this J&D trading(used to be friends with the former boss long time ago).

The bloody fool told me PS3 40GB is sold for RM1300(this was back in November, so its definitely a great price). Then suddenly says that the PS3 is only Jap version. Cannot play english games and no english menu.

I screw the fella kao kao by saying the PS3 is region free and games in english or not is not dependent on the system but the game itself. then she(yea its a she) don't belief, took out a US region game and say will proof it to me. Wham, it plays. Damn malu the fella.

Yea exactly. SG.Wang is a real bad place to buy video game consoles.

Buying games is fine though, as some of them actually give really nice prices sometimes. I found a new copy of Uncharted US version for RM185 there.

Somewhat cheaper perhaps, though I think its about the same if you buy from JB instead.

You have to search around. I got mine from SCE's keane, and to be frank with you it was actually a lil bit overpriced.

They will give you a price of the PS3 for RM1300 or even less, and then will tell you that the PS3 is Japan language only. See that sort of BS? Since when the PS3 was single language only? Oh right, like never.

Some of them will even pack in fake SIXAXIS controller as well. Other than that, their warranty claim is also crap talk.

Difference is regional locks for Blu-Ray movies only.

Technically, Blu-Ray was cracked before it even launches. Just that theres no point in pirating it as individual BD-R are too expensive to be mass produced just yet, especially when DVD-R are still selling like clothes.

As for the PS3 being cracked, its been done already(Linux was a big loophole to begin with). Just that currently theres no way to put the use of custom-firmware to play back-up games. Not to mention games on those Blu-Ray are huge.

Under RM1k by the end of 2009? Unlikely. Close to RM1k, most probably. There doesn't seem to be any sort of price drop for the PS3 atleast for a while more(well until near Christmas that is).
