My insure sum is 23k,
So for year 5~8, the 2.5% is from 23k or sum that have been pay?
Like 5 year have been pay 11k, so 2.5% of 11k?

Guarantee cash = divided or different thing?

The guarantee cash they will send cheque?
*
based on the 23k. so you will receive RM575, now company will credit that to your bank account yearly. it depends upon purchasing, you opt to withdraw the cash payment or leave it back to the company to save and gain interest. its is known as guarantee cash.

Yes, whether to have medical card might not be important as what I understand is without the medical card we need to pay first then claim with the insurance company with the bills, while doctor will charge higher price if notice the patient is having the medical card thus reduce the annual limit.

It is for my mother, 64 this December, still working, no medical history before only have joint paint (if I could remember correctly).
*
normally what i will advise is, to have own medical emergency funds ready and also have medical card ready as well if health allows. of course government hospital benefit is something that we Malaysians really give thanks for. with medical emergency funds and medical card ready, at least we are giving ourselves more options to seek for medical treatment alternatives. if you have medical card, in general, medical card will cover the bill on cashless basis if Guarantee Letter is issued. it depends on cases whereby pay and claim (reimbursement) basis is needed, thus the standby medical emergency funds. even with government hospital aid, it is best to have own emergency funds ready in case there is any unexpected cases that need to seek treatment from private hospital. wink.gif

hi 123azerty, can look into a medical card to cover hospitalization/surgical expenses and also a critical illness insurance to cover your living expenses/a portion of your income in the case of critical illness. icon_rolleyes.gif

medical card insurance, usually take how long to process "pay and claim"?
*
once you submitted all the documents, it takes averagely 3 working days to process. once processing is done (claims approved), it takes averagely 5 working days for the money to be credited to bank account

indeed strange. i have a client who submitted her claims during the MCO (it did take longer than usual but not as long as yours) and the claims was approved and credited already. somemore yours is submitted before the MCO, can you login to your eConnect and see whether you can check the claims status?

hi Hoochygal, what's the reason that you don't have faith in investment link? traditional policy that covers CI have very limited choice so it is quite easy for you to choose from. of course when you want better "return", getting traditional policy will eventually cost more because of the maturity portion.

QUOTE(LostAndFound @ Jun 13 2020, 01:18 PM)
When exploring options for insurance for female 35 years (next birthday) non smoker, I spoke to both a GE agent and an AIA agent.

GE agent said RM220 monthly for 990k annual limit room&board 150 (with minimal 12k life protection)

AIA agent said RM300 for their 150 package (500k annual limit, 20k life protection).

Seems like a huge difference for reduced coverage, which means I must be missing something, but I also dunno how to ask further as they seem directly comparable to me. Can the insurance agents here suggest what the possible differences could be to cause the huge difference in cost?

Thanks for all who offered to meet me to draw up a plan, but I very much prefer posting publicly in LYN for everyone's benefit (if that's okay with you).
*
hi LostAndFound, if you don'd mind to show us the product illustration, then we know exactly what's the benefits and cost in the plan.

hi Housedude, yea she still can get medical insurance so long haven't exceed 70 years old. There won't be any limitation imposed unless she has medical history. Yearly premium for standalone (as of today's age) expected range at 7k a year, for ILP (level premium) will be 10k a year (assume 1million annual limit with no deductible).

ok, what's the latest update as of this few days? agent got a careline to call (even though still need to wait but not as bad as customer careline) and can ask for the current status. just follow up. hope to hear from your good news soon. I believed you did try your best to clear your credit card bill. normally i will advise my client to prepare spare cash fund for emergency cases like this.

hi QD_buyer, is her agent her direct superior within the same agency? normally when agent resigns, the customer policies servicing will be passed automatically to her manager.

did anyone get the same for GE?

previously the agent showed a minimum quotable premium increase on June 1 2020

im just wondering for people who hold the policy before the increase, will they still get the old price or will the new price be enforced?
*
yea, GE also revised their Smart Medic Xtra COI from 1st June 2020. so policyholders with that medical card will receive notification on the COI increased.

are you referring to Manulink Wealth? because there is another plan called Manuwealth Assured. If you are referring to Manulink Wealth (ILP), then yes cash value can be withdrawn.

I was attracted with this plan by then because the agent told me the cash value can be withdrawn after 10 years without any charges. And the cash value is almost same as I paid for the past 10 years according to the schedule shown, so I sort of think of it as a forced saving as well. But reading in forum, I feel like over insured but I’m not sure đŸ¤”
*
basically so long its an ILP, you can withdraw the cash value anytime. for this plan if you made withdrawal within 10 years, there will be charges imposed due to the 100% allocation rate of the plan even from 1st year onwards. Save with a purpose (for example need RM400,000 in 10 years time), distinguish between savings and protection also will be better so you are clear of what you want and you don't forego insurance benefits when you need the savings in the future. wink.gif

30yo female non smoker
400k sum insured
350k CI
100k early CI
100k care for mum
premium waiver

How much per year for above ILP in market now?
*
whats the occupation? assuming class 1 occupation (office job), a premium of 5400 p.a is needed for policy with such benefit to sustain until 70 years old.

*
hi tony, if you are looking into term (non-ilp), perhaps let us know how long coverage term you want? for example, 500k @ until 60 years old. then only can compare is it actually cheaper than what you have now because imo the one you have now is considered cheap already.

Hi ckdenion. The payout for CI is only applicable after the patient is discharged is it? I have another question though. For female illnesses, it's not covered in any Medical Card right?
*
hi Bearberry, the payout of CI is not related to hospital admission/discharge. for medical card, in general it covers admission/surgery. perhaps you may wanna give some example of female illnesses? most medical card doesn't covers pregnancy by the way.

I bought this for my daughter before she was born. The insurance agent is kinda pushy. I'm paying around RM190 per month. PRUlink managed fund 2 value also like crap, around RM755 only after 3 years. I was thinking of buying a new policy and terminating this one. Any suggestion?
*
Barricade, for the premium you are paying and the benefits, it looks okay to me though. only if you think that this policy is not something you want, else i wont advise you to terminate and buy a new one. if possible, look at the benefits more than the cash value. because insurance is more on the benefits that you are getting and you grow your extra funds through other investment vehicles. smile.gif

I only want to cover for unexpected accidents and CI. But I read a lot of comments saying that ILP plan is not that good as compared to term insurance.
Should I be concerned?

ok. i prefer company B from what you stated. btw in which area ILP plan is not good compared to term? perhaps you can tell us what your concern is. smile.gif
