QUOTE(sniper69 @ Aug 25 2007, 03:01 PM) IMO, anything below 50°C is ok already, 45°C you need to worry while above than 55°C, you better start doing something to cool it down does it apply to any kind of HDD? why the Seagate 7200.10 still around 43C last time I placed the Maxtor in the same position as the Seagate, but maxtor just showed <40C only This post has been edited by dattebayo: Aug 25 2007, 06:35 PM |

QUOTE(dattebayo @ Aug 25 2007, 06:34 PM) does it apply to any kind of HDD? yeap... i do think so why the Seagate 7200.10 still around 43C last time I placed the Maxtor in the same position as the Seagate, but maxtor just showed <40C only searched through google, i can't find any good source or any, but most of them (found from discussion about ideal temp for HDDs), it's around 50°C~55°C |

QUOTE(dattebayo @ Aug 25 2007, 06:34 PM) does it apply to any kind of HDD? Never mind la. Hard disk have no problem run a little hotter. This is what I found out when googling about hdd temperatures. why the Seagate 7200.10 still around 43C last time I placed the Maxtor in the same position as the Seagate, but maxtor just showed <40C only According to Google engineers " Lower temperatures are associated with higher hard disk failure rates.
