the higher the temp, your hdd will kong sooner.

mine is under 40.

1st, my CPU located in Air-Conditioner room, ambient temperature keep in 18 degree C
2nd, I got 3 normal 80mm fans in my Casing.

normal, at that temp your hdd will die young. improve ventilation asap.

My hdd has been running 24/7 at ~50C for 3 years in my SFF, still works plenty fine. But then again i also have 2 deathstars running 24/7 for more than 5 years and they're still fine...

50c thruout the year? the temp will definitely drop during winter in US. in msia diff story.

The SFF is indoors. The temps don't vary as much as outside, one would hope.

using WD 80GB IDE but the temperature is 41-45 all the time. has been using for 1.5 years. no problem so far. still have tested my new WD 250GB SATA2. anyway, i heard that WD HDD is much hotter than Seagate's.

nothing strange for the difference as i place the WD right under the Maxtor, so WD have more space beneath it, so better airflow for the WD

currently WD250 @36°C, IMO, below 40°C is ideal temp for HDD icon_idea.gif, i've got 120mm case fan blowing direct to HDD...

My primary hdd around 35-39c, secondary hdd around 30-33c. Both WD in non-aircond room, the primary one always 5c higher than secondary hdd, dunno is it normal.

Same thing. I've got 2 12cm fans blowing towards the HDDs, HDDs temp <35 °C
