Wondering, most of the companies can accept lateness to work until which extend? - 30 mins/ 1 hour/ 2 hours?
If late, what actions will be taken? - deduct salary/ late for how long then OT for how long/ replace work on another day?
What reasons are acceptable for lateness? - traffic jam/ LRT rosak/ waking up late?

As long not everyday should be fine.
If more than 2 hours, there is something called time out. Therefore time should be below that time.
If late, then extend working hour la depending on how long late.
As for me, I don't bother as long not everyday and able to meet deadline

Reason is deemed acceptable if your lateness is rare occurrence.
Either full working hours or deduct salary. Don't think I ever heard of replacement for lateness on another day.
Been late for 2 hours but only once as far as I remember. Usually will just call for half day off if late more than an hour.

This depends on your company......but if you late till 2hrs you still got face mei to come to work...better straight take 1st half leave lar to save the trouble......
Usually will deduct salary......
The reason is reasonable? If everytime late also using same reason then must be something wrong already......

Regarding actions taken, it all depends on the company. Some companies are ok with tardiness, but of course, they probably expect the employee to "pay back time" and work slightly later etc.

My company has a flexi entry time between 8.30 - 9.30. Ofc, you have to go back later if you came in later too
But if late, usually boss don't care. As long as you don't abuse

It depends on industry and job needs.
Some can have flexible hour, some cannot. Customer service orientated generally needs to follow strict time, if your company or service counter is opening for business at 8.00am, then 8.01 am is already unacceptable time. When your staff only come in 8.30am to start the service counter, surely there will be a lot of angry customers that are waiting and can ruin the company image.

it really depends on companies, and boss style.
i been with japanese company, late more than 5 mins deduct salary. i been with US company, some roles required on time and some roles quite flexible as long as you deliver.
i have a friend working in local company, cannot tolerate lateness, but they always OT for 1-2 hrs. how to count like that.
at the end, back to your company/boss pattern.

depends actually on company. would say 30-1 hour.
u can be late for 2 hours provided u have valid reasons i.e work late last night, late night meeting. but put back in the hours.

My senior just told me that if you're planning to enter office late, inform him beforehand.
But still, nothing beats leaving the house earlier. No excuses unless there's some accident or urgency involved.
