wokie...the long awaited pics of the setups biggrin.gif haha
so it is concluded that the average m0 stepping wall is at 3ghz

and that p35 chipset can do 448 fsb easily with an e2140 and it can be done up to 495 with an intel e6850.
[attachmentid=283555]

woo..what the.. the fsb wall has been breached past 400. Ur definitely being hold back by the Stock hsf. There's no Speed wall @ 3ghz. SLam a good hsf and >3.2ghz is possible. Ghawwww

Hey guys,

user posted image

check out more of my E2160 OC screenshots !!!

3.0Ghz

3.25Ghz

at first i manage to bump my E2160 to 3.0Ghz !!! Stable !!! but after than i tried to go 3.33Ghz (which is FSB 370 X 9)... but my RIG won't boot !!!! so i lower down to 3.25Ghz and everything works fine. i'm using Kingston value ram 667 and everything AUTO. I also never touch my Vcore... Everything AUTO !!!

Lucky im not the only one with E2160 ! now im happy to have u guys here in forum to discuss with !

have a nice day !

well
i was overclocking my e2140 with my 965-s dark
but it wont go above 250fsb
i increased the voltage (VTT, CPU and DRAM, and NB)
but the dram speed can only go up to 710mhz sad.gif
haha

i guess its my ram cannot go more (MUSHIN VALUE ENHANCED 667MHZ)
that is 5-5-5-15
i tried to tighten it to 3-3-3-9 but it will only get to POST
shucks

really want to see my e2140 go to at least 3.0ghz
now only 2.2 and no more
*
oh man, it's ghey to run it @ those speeds. the E2140 has more powahh to it laugh.gif . first, check n make sure your ram divider/ratio is correct. I've tested mushkin value ddr2 667 and can hit ddr2 850 5-5-5-15 @1.9v no probs

QUOTE(Are_keem @ Oct 11 2007, 04:49 PM)
new E2140 user reporting in!

try to OC mine today, but stuck at 2.3Ghz only..
any tips to push more?
am using giga DS3 and 1GB KVR..
*
oh another ghey case of running it so slow laugh.gif . again, with good hsf, 3ghz no prob. check your ram ratio. it's so simple to OC on giga.

so the coretemp readings are the correct ones? happy.gif
*
use core temp 0.94. Tjunction is 85C. if your using 0.95, minus 15C off..u'll get the same temp as 0.94

QUOTE(allenultra @ Oct 31 2007, 12:31 AM)
CPU temp is the temperature measured by the sensor at the motherboard, which is below the CPU die.
As heat transferred along from the CPU die (is that what we call die? or core?) to IHS > Heatsink Base > Heatpipe > Fins > Air
When the heat reached heatpipe, temperature is way slower than the CPU temp unless u have hsf with HDT, maybe the difference won't be that big.
Thus, what u feel on the heatpipe should be way lower than the CPU temp.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

yeah , words from a mechy engineer biggrin.gif

I would agree with you. The review should pretty tel much the whole point. Basically, giga's site is just a 'precaution' as it wasnt officially meant for 1333bus CPUs

This is getting so frustrating. I;ve already followed your steps. disable it. cpu host = 200 . system multiplier = 3.33 which equals 667 . SO basically its 200 x 8 = 1600 which is the default but i set manual but still will not boot up. ARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH. I really do not know whats wrong anymore.

Do I need 2 stick of rams to overclock or 1 will actually work.
*
it's not system multiplier..it's called divider...set it to 2.00.

guys, just a quick check, any M0 user here? if there is, how far can it fetch?  hmm.gif

still new to intel, many thing to be learnt...  laugh.gif

Any recent L2/M0 should overclock decently well. Pretty simple, with a good Ocing board + HSF, juz increase the FSB..violaa

yup, mine is mo e2140 too...  smile.gif what's ya highest clock with stock voltage (1.325v)? i'm currently burnin d chip, not doin so well (2.8GHz) but just a fore play as i'm still nuts in intel oc...  tongue.gif
ic, thanks bro. one thing i notice bout this 2140 is regardless voltage, be it stock or way up to 1.375, d load temp is alot diff then idle temp (usin coretemp 0.95.4). on load it can go as high as 60'C, while on idle d temp read is just only 30 (+-3)'C. is this normal?  sweat.gif

btw, i'm runnin d chip on old skool 965p ds3 (rev 3.3) board with a pair of d9dcl, d chip cooled by katana2 used on my old rig b4, kinda outdated...  doh.gif
*
yeah the load temps differs by a relatively huge margin over idle. feels great changing camp to intel rite? lol

QUOTE(wodenus @ Nov 7 2007, 02:31 PM)
Currently at 3120 MHz (390x8) at 1.376v. Am using a CM silence on it (Rm45 ! smile.gif ) but I have fans everywhere on the board. Idle is 37c. OCCT/Orthos load pushes it up to about 67c. The nice thing about M0 is that the max Tcase is 73c, so you can push it up a bit higher before the protection kicks in and lowers everything.

I have two fans blowing on the RAM (just removed them from old processor HSFs), one fan on the processor MOSFETs, and one 8cm case fan above the NB. Also I have EIST, C1E and TM2 on so the divider drops when I'm not gaming.
Load is 67c here... but then max Tcase on the M0 stepping is 73c, so I still have room. Can't do much higher w/o pushing voltage though.
*
ya ur M0 is way better than my 1st batch L2. sweet spot @ 3ghz @ 1.3875v, 3.1ghz @ 1.45v. more than tat no b00t doh.gif

hi, what BIOS version is on you guys P35 DS3 motherboard? I faced a problem, I can only push my E2140 to 350*8. cant boot up with anything more than 360*8 even with 1.4vCore. I'm using Crucial value ram (D9) and I did set the ram timing to 5-5-5-15.  what is the problem? would updating the BIOS would solve my problem? currently F5 BIOS with my motherboard.
*
Which HSF are you on? Tested with at least 1:1 divider? if u've done tat, & no changes, probably u've got a walled CPU

same like mine, but mine can't pass through 390 x 8 although had loosen the timing and pump 1.5V vcore.
confirm not caused by temperature though. the RAM divider had been set to 1:1 but still cant pass 390FSB.
maybe got fsb-walled processor.. sad.gif
*
wow tat's not a so good news indeed, i thought the later batches of e2140 shouldnt be walled to at least 3ghz

F4? now latest is F9. or should I try the latest?  I set it in BIOS. any different if I set using memset?
*
i think trying diff bioses wouldnt help much in ur OCing. perhaps it will jus improve ur memory OCing, but not the CPU ocing itself

Abit IP35-e (rm320) or Gigabyte P35-S3L, DS3, DS3L ( rm340, rm390, rm370)

Not a fan of Bio, Power ATX location is bad. I will opt for IP35-e, cool looking, Heatsink @ Mosfets, and it overclocks well.. 500fsb no prob

Wow, perhaps as last resort, try stripping everything back and pasang balik . Pray that it POSTs.

Couldnt cause a total non boot symptom

yes, test everything,
try using 1 stick on every single slot, still the same result.
wanna ask, my friend said it maybe caused by ram slot voltage short.
is there such thing?  blink.gif
stripped everyting,
my rig went naked last night, also try to connect only mobo, proc, RAM and psu,
still the same.. aihh..
dont tell me my mobo kong oledi.. cry.gif

mmm the ds3 shouldnt be tat sissy...it takes some beatings 2 kill a board. furthermore it has dual bios, the backup should restore should the main 1 fails...mmm weird..any other cpu to test on the board?

i thought E2160 easier to reach 3ghz than E2140? hmm.gif

technically yes..the E2160 has better probability to reach higher speeds than E2140, whether L2 or M0, but it stil boils down to luck. U can see some of us here did 3.6ghz with E2160

mm any value rams should be able to do 450mhz no prob ... u don need some better rams to test the limit of ur CPU oc
