QUOTE(machine85 @ Aug 7 2007, 05:29 AM)
I manage to buy mine as the last few customers before pc fair closed. Yeap they do offer the free "premium mouse" and 15months mcafee, on top of that they'll give u a 100 bucks off the price. thats prolly the only reason why i bought it on the spot.

I was told that white, black, yellow, pink and red has sufficient stock atm, other colors are required to wait at least 3 weeks to 5 weeks.

And complete cover only covers msia, sg, philipines, aussie (if im not mistaken), so if u took this and u were to be abroad and ur dell is faulty, u gotta send it back to these countries to be entitled for the complete cover.

Got my 1520 at a whoopin 4.4k sad.gif pricy but i hope its a good buy
below are the specs
-C2D T7300 (2.0ghz, 4mb cache 800mhz fsb)
-15" widescreen truelife -hope i don regret this
-2x 1gb 667 ram
-160gb sata hhd
-8x dvdr (heard plenty of complains on this)
-Geforce 8600gt 256mb GDDR2222
-4965AGN wifi minicard
-audigy card (just add 35, only applicable in pc fair)
-9 cell battery
-3 Yrs Complete cover
btw i just went to dell's site, apparently their new warranty is called "Dell Care" -  3Yrs limited warranty (includes night & weekend) + 3Yrs plus phone support + 3Yrs CompleteCover + 1Yr HelpDesk @ 659 from a default 1year warranty.

apart from the grainy screen n leaking, wat other problems does other 1520 users get?
*
That's cheap, I got mine for RM4315, and the differences from yours are
C2D T7100
120gb sata hdd
no audigy card
6 cell batt
3 yrs limited warranty

Yours come with Vista premium or basic?

QUOTE(tanmat @ Aug 7 2007, 02:47 PM)
I might be mistaken but its not a card but just a software upgrade. And if you look around the forums you can find something similiar.

I have purchased this for the 640m before. I could not find any noticeable difference in the sound output.
*
Oh, I though it's a hardware.

QUOTE(ember(tm) @ Aug 7 2007, 05:38 PM)
Heh, mine crashed while playing C&C3 too. sigh..  sad.gif
*
I've searched high and low for the solution and I found that there's some people facing this kinda problem too. There are two possibilities I can think of:
1. The game itself, but not everyone is facing this problem.
2. The GPU is too hot to handle the game.

QUOTE(gmhafiz @ Aug 7 2007, 07:41 PM)
Make sure you are using original C&C3. Pirates one are prone to crashes.
*
Errr... it has nothing to do with the originality of the game, the only thing that matter is the CD key, if you buy an original game but use a pirated cd key, it's considered as pirated and vice versa. So I think that this is not one of the reason why the game crash. smile.gif

Got it for roughly two weeks and still no time to give a deep exploration. Mainly used for normal routines - surf Internet, listen to mp3, watch TV series and etc.
*
Glad you got yours finally.

QUOTE(ember(tm) @ Aug 7 2007, 11:14 PM)
Yeah, there isn't any widespread C&C3 crashing issue I can find.

Well is there any fix for this?
*
I can't find any so far.

By the way guys, what're your temperatures?

Most probably is Vista, I'm not satisfy with the graphic of CnC3 too. It looks like I'm using some old graphic card to play this game even if I set the settings high. sweat.gif

Haha, try to switch all graphic configurations to high and see...
Just checked dell website, the price changed again for Inspiron5200...
i wonder what's the difference between WXGA, WXGA+, WSXGA+ display.
does it make observable differences?
*
I alrdy set all the settings to high sad.gif

QUOTE(derred @ Aug 9 2007, 01:05 PM)
Yes it's possible. Use a software-based or just set it up on Control Panel. U don't need button for that. That will be a waste.
*
The one in the control panel can only set the timer to switch off the LCD but not off the LCD instantly rite?

I tried installing one of Nvidia drivers that support the 8600m gt card and ended up with my Aero theme gone. windows experience index went down from 4.5 to a bloody 1.0..

Had to pull out my Dell's display driver DVD.
*
You mean ForceWare? I've updated mine to 163.11, no problem so far.

QUOTE(WildChai @ Aug 9 2007, 01:57 PM)
Usually laptops have switches built in them to detect if the lid is open or closed...in order to conserve power. Even the power option in the control panel doesn't help...because it cannot detect if the lid is closed or open.

Apparently this new inspiron models doesn't have them built in.

All i can do is set timer to a lower limit and let it turn off the screen after a minute or so. What a pain.
*
Yeap, quite troublesome. I set mine turn off after 10 mins, if would be better if there's a button to switch the LCD on or off.

Backpack is easier to carry around (and also the weight is distributed over 2 shoulders). Another thing, if you carry a sling bag with the word "DELL" on the side you'll be more prone to snatch thefts and car break-ins. tongue.gif

Yeap, I have the same thought, 1520 isn't that light anyway.

Hardly see it with bare eyes, you have to feel it with your finger. Just gently stroke the panel with your finger from left or right with a moderate speed, you can feel it yourself IF it exists.
