ok ok, i got my AUO replaced by anLG yesterday ( too excited, didnt bother posting here) major diff in quality. No grain, my white is white almost perfect. Sligth , very minor light leakage at the btm when i am seeing absolutely black parts of a move ( opening/title ). Weird thing is that when i try hide taskbar then put 100% black wallpaper no leakage can be seen.

My friend bought a 1520 some time ago. Faced many issues, grainy screen and keeps hanging on the BIOS. He returned it back for a full refund.

Your FP is not leakage, my friend 1 also did encountered that during the BIOS, but when masuk windows ok dee

Tracyjz, maybe you can start with yours biggrin.gif

It depends if your sys is still under the 14 days satisfaction period.
My friend returned his in the 14 days period, only charge is the freight charge, but if you are a pro 'lawyer' like him, you can get them to waive it. smile.gif

I have a question for all, how much is the price if I wanto extend my warranty to 3 years?
Price for both limited warranty and complete cover~ TQ
*
Only way to find out is to call dell. If your current warranty has expired, then it will be more expensive. They will quote you very high, but you can nego with them.

More expensive ar? I might decide whether to extend the warranty (now only the standard 1 year) near the end of my warranty period, or to just put the laptop to sale in LYN Forum, cuz wants to grab new Inspiron design next year if available.

I don't believe in long-term commitment, in some cases hehe cry.gif laugh.gif wub.gif

the problem is like this, i bought a dell 1520 with a dealer and ask him to help me extend warranty n he told me to do it online after sales.
Mana tau i check on9, if bundle with laptop n buy on9, 3years complete cover only add rm651, and if i buy separately, limited 3 years warranty cost me rm733!!!!! I now damn geram...
*
correct wat... after u get ur laptop and wanna extend warranty, they'll charge more.

if ur lappie still in warranty and want to extend then its cheaper, if its already out then its more exp.

Dont look at website. Call up the spare parts dept and nego with them. Trust me it works, depending on your lawyer skills. This is how dell earn money ma .. from selling warranties..

Umm .. wrong. Most people have the perception Dell will replace you a new one. In reality, they will replace you with a refurbished one... they are not stupid ehhh .. they can read your mind

1526 onli bout magnetic + slim ? If it does not have 8800 GT then i wont feel so painful =P I can handle the weight coz i am not weak.

My "illusionary" light leakage is very (VERY) minor. Maybe its because i try too hard to look for any defects on a good screen lol.

1526 runs on AMD.. so it runs on ATI card... no worries la, 8800GT if got also will cost 1/2 of the notebook price itself, so definitely it wont be in there.

1520 screen is acceptable la .. you get what you paid for smile.gif
