QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Feb 18 2020, 05:31 PM) Of course not. Apple IFags are a totally different breed. Right, people deeply rooted in the ecosystem won't switch no matter how compelling the offer is. But with the S20, the offer is not even compelling. But after my second week now with my S10 Lite, I can see why US reviewers wax lyrical about their Samsung phones and don't mention any of the stuffs we face like poor cell reception and battery drain. The SD processor makes a world of difference!Repeat after me.... "Apple can do no wrong" Eh....wrong thread. Let's see if the Exynos 990 can prove different from it's predecessors. |

QUOTE(Max2006 @ Feb 18 2020, 07:37 PM) Hmmm....Samsung worshiper perhaps? That works out to RM37xx. Hmmm... no lah, pass.S20 Ultra in 3k range.. how about buy 2 phones with the 2nd one offer 50% discount? I think it's possible that Samsung will pull out this stunt once again in the upcoming roadshow................ Still an Exynos |

QUOTE(koji188 @ Feb 18 2020, 11:44 PM) I also used to think the whole Exynos vs Snapdragon argument was blown out of proportion. I've owned every Samsung flagship since the S6 (with the exception of the S7 Edge and Note 7) and all of them performed adequately. I'm not a gamer as well so I probably wouldn't know about the superiority of the SD's GPU compared to the Exynos, so it's all good. But all of them had unusual battery drain especially overnight and when on idle. I initially thought it was an Android issue, but having tried other phones then I thought it was a Samsung issue. Samsung would not release a SD powered phone here officially and I would never buy one without official warranty so no harm, no foul. Ignorance is bliss! Then the S10 Lite was launched and out of curiosity I bought it to try, half expecting it to be not so different. I could not be more wrong. I went from 7-8% overnight battery drain to just 2% with all settings left on. Granted, the S10 Lite has a slightly bigger battery than the Note 10+ (4500mAh vs 4300mAh), but I'm getting some serious mileage from the S10 Lite which I can never achieve on any of my previous Samsung phones. Also, my brief experience with the Note 10+ was even more frustrating as it had poor signal reception - worse than most midrange phones. Now on the same network and at the same locations, the reception on my S10 Lite is far better. So now that I've had the first hand experience for myself, I can see why most here would pick the SD over the Exynos if given a choice. I'd do the same. QUOTE(Khuan0813 @ Feb 19 2020, 03:20 AM) As long as you are not a ASUS fan, don't go to buy a ASUS smartphone. I had the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 running on pure Android and it was alright. But yeah, the Asus ownership experience is not for everyone I also have tried to use a ASUS smartphone before. The first time when I swipe down the notification bar, I feel regret. It was just a minute after I switched on the new phone. QUOTE(milfap @ Feb 19 2020, 06:41 AM) Would you still buy after watching this?I get that no one would intentionally damage the screen like that but to boast about having Ultra Thin Glass when it's clearly not glass.... QUOTE(1likegadg3t @ Feb 19 2020, 10:33 AM) lol its almost the same price of iphone 11 pro max 64GB at $1799 but its cheaper if you compare to Pro max 256GB in SG QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Feb 19 2020, 12:17 PM) Well... I guess its the same story with Apple Ifags. Samsung Fags will die die defend Samsung even when they are being short-changed for lower specs and in this case smaller storage. Somehow I don't feel sakit hati to pay over RM4k for my iPhones, but very reluctant to do that for Android seeing how fast the price drops.QUOTE(milfap @ Feb 19 2020, 12:44 PM) Samsung fear it might end up like HTC , so fast2 squeeze their fans kaw2 to the max while they are still the top. There are demo sets of the S20 and S20+ at Samsung Experience Stores already, but they said S20 Ultra hasn't arrived as of yet.

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Feb 19 2020, 07:12 PM) Doesn't mean they were right. If anything, I haven't bought any phone since S9+. I don't think Samsung realized it's design is getting stale. I’ve just seen the demo sets and yes, apart from the rear camera, nothing much has changed. I guess mainstream phone designs have reached a plateau, those who are brave (and wealthy) enough can try the folding phones, I suppose.S6edge, S8, S8+ and S9+. I had enough... |

QUOTE(devilmaycry9 @ Feb 19 2020, 11:18 PM) im eye-ing on samsung s20 because i really want flagship phone with small size.. and microsd slot too! Like we mentioned in the previous pages, it could be blown out of proportion. I'm sure Samsung won't put the Exynos 990 in their phones if they do not think it can match the SD. Also, there's every chance that the weaknesses of Exynos chips in the past has been addressed. reading this thread some make a point about how snapdragon and exynos really a big deal. haizzzz... Of course, if you don't want to take the risk why not wait for feedback after the phone has been officially launched? You might miss the preorder gifts but you might also get it cheaper by then |

QUOTE(milfap @ Feb 20 2020, 01:02 PM) I only scroll up n down the Settings menu , really my eyes cant tell the difference between 60 & 120Hz. When I moved from S10+ to OP7 Pro 90hz I noticed the difference almost immediately when scrolling but after I sold the OP7 Pro and moved back to the iPhone 6S, I really didn't miss it that much. So I tend to agree with TOMEI-R on this, high refresh rate is a nice to have but it's not essential for casual users. |

QUOTE(freakenstein @ Feb 20 2020, 06:08 PM) How is the ROG 2 working out for you bro? QUOTE(moneyd9 @ Feb 20 2020, 07:23 PM) I'm currently using mate 20 pro for the past 2 years till present , I'm thinking to get S20 ultra . At the moment we are nowhere near 5G deployment in our country so to buy a 5G phone is a bit overkill, so I wouldn't buy the S20 Ultra just for 5G. If you can afford it I'm sure the S20 Ultra will be a great phone for all it's other features, but just don't buy it merely for the 5G capabilities.Compare both , is it significant move to S20 ultra ? With the Huawei now ban on Google service , I'm looking for other brand such as this S20 ultra . Does the 5g and non 5g matter ? Malaysia 5g does it work ? Any sifu can share opinion ? |

QUOTE(ijuanp03 @ Feb 20 2020, 10:32 PM) You know how Android OEMs want to make the top and side bezels slimmer but they can't do the same with the chin for hardware reasons. You’d have to be very OCD to notice it at first glance though Here's the best example: iPhone 11 Pro vs S10e. Notice Apple's attention to detail. The top, sides and bottom borders are even. Even the corner radius of the body AND the display itself are equal. Galaxy S10e's borders are uneven at the top and bottom while the side borders are thinner. We couldn't blame Samsung tho because they wanna boast the best screen to body ratio in expense of design. ![]() |
