they cover accidental crack too? i read the warranty guidelines didn't mention about screen crack coverage
*
YES. My S10e pre-order last year even has 1+1 year warranty although I wasn't able to use that warranty.

I even remember during the Galaxy S6 days, Samsung Malaysia honored screen AND back glass replacement when the glass got scratched due to the Samsung flip cover. Anyway that's a totally different story.

from the screenshot the signals looks bad.

First-gen 5G device will definitely have a poor battery life.
Just wait when 5G modems are integrated in the chipset.

Off topic:
I saw an unboxing video of Galaxy S20 Ultra with ONLY 4G connectivity.
The welcome screen shows "Galaxy S20 Ultra LTE".
I'll probably get that one if the price is right brows.gif

I didn't like the camera comparison of iPhone 11 Pro Max and Galaxy S20 Ultra from Supersaf. I can feel the bias in him towards the iPhone. In some of his images, it clearly shows how much detail the S20 Ultra has and just ignores how soft some iPhone images are.

But one thing the S20 Ultra is inferior compared to any previous Galaxy flagship- the autofocus speed. The latest flagship does NOT have dual pixel autofocus due to the new camera sensor.

They need another lend which can make tat macro mode.. but not with the lens the phones are using nowadays.
10X is Optical Zoom, Digital Zoom is just the picture at the same resolution getting enlarged.. sure blur for digital zoom.. Optical zoom is hardware zoom, not software processing like digital zoom.
*
They don't. Some brands like Huawei use the ultra wide angle lens for macro shots like in the Mate 20 Pro. The reason that phone can use macro because it has auto focus in the ultra wide angle unlike phones like iPhone 11 Pro or Galaxy S10, S20 etc

Galaxy S20 Ultra only has 5x optical zoom.
Galaxy S20 ad S20+ do NOT have true optical zoom.
The second camera sensor that takes telephoto is 64mp but they just crop within the 64mp to get the "zoomed" image.

It's the same principle when you only have a single camera and you zoom into an image.

All previous Galaxy flagship (S10, Note10, Note9, S9, etc) has 2x optical zoom but the S20/S20+ has no real optical zoom.

Just wondering why some of you guys pre-ordered from Harvey Norman/Senheng/Senq when the freebies are the same? They are considered 3rd party retailers so I doubt they are part of the roadshow (?)

Software can fix S20 Ultra's image processing but it can't fix the focus hunting issue as it doesn't have the dual pixel tech which is hardware-related.

The tv is a chance to win.. not confirm get o..

It's not a chance but first come first served basis.
A chance is when you are first in line but they decided not to give you the TV.
Please stop confusing people. sweat.gif

Ok.. coz I tot I read win a chance to get a TV.. my mistake.. sorry.. haha .

Where did you read that?

From Samsung website:
**Consumers may select only the Early Bird Reward OR the Trade-in Old Get Brand New option per person, per bill
***Valid for the first 500 redemption based on the allocated amounts placed in each region: KL-220, Penang-120, Johor-80, Kuantan-30, KK-50

Early bird reward = TV

Is the roadshow only in Midvalley in KL? If it is, then the first 220 can claim the TV (I heard only 50 will be available in the roadshow and the rest will claim afterwards).
I wonder how many units of S20 Ultra will they have during the roadshow.. hmmm..

Yea i noticed from all the tech reviewers, S20U is struggling to focus. So it's confirmed dual pixel autofocus doesnt present in S20U?
*
Yeap confirmed. The camera lens hardware doesn't have that tech unlike old the S20/S20+ and older Galaxys upto S8

Surprisingly, it's the first time Apple used dual pixel tech with their latest iPhone 11 lineup.

I think theres update coming for S20U, most of the reviewer just review the current software. Theres other youtuber waiting for the coming update before they can give their full review like mobiletechreview and The Tech Chap
*
It would be unfair to keep on waiting for the latest S20U update because they didn't do that to other brands. There are phones that got low scores from tech reviews using their initial software versions.

s20 ultra 108mp use PDAF. even though it is slower focus speed than dual pixel one. but other phones use PDAF only also no issue in lost focus. It is probably the software bugs which apparently the fix is released in korea already.
*
A camera loses focus when it cannot "see" the subject. In ideal lighting, it can happen more often in "PDAF only" because it loses track of the subject.

Focus hunting happens in low light if the pixel size is low. S20U uses a very low 0.8micropixel in video. It can only use pixel binning in photos.

I'm yet to see a review for the latest software if it really fixed this issue.

I'm happy that you got yours. Too bad for Samsung not to catch all issues related to cameras because millions watch tech video reviews. Somehow, iPhone users can taunt Android again for having an inferior camera in the best Android smartphone currently out in the market.

some reviewers want to review asap so they can get more click, then later they will review again when update come so can get another click to their video. biggrin.gif  nod.gif
*
True. But potential buyers would shy away knowing the initial review isn't good. This would hurt sales and people will have confirmation *again* that iPhone is the best smartphone camera in the world bruce.gif

They are comparing from their previous device so their point is valid.
You are just lucky to have great reception in your area.

I've only seen fake UAG cases sold in physical shops and online but not Spigen. Spigen is rather cheap now -- ~45-50++ for an original Spigen case.

I strongly believe that this is not just your Galaxy S20+ problem, but it is all the Android phone users problem.

The problem starts with Google app has pushed a notification to the users after they restart their phone every time.

Before that the battery does not drain so fast like what you mentioned.
*
Nope. It's an Exynos problem. My Note10 SD doesn't drain that fast even so for other Android OEMs like HTC or Motorola.

Do you guys think the line will be long this time around? What are the chances of getting a TV if I go to MV around 9am?

I am seriously considering letting go of my Note10 ONLY IF I can purchase S20 with a guarantee of getting the golden ticket for Smart TV.

Okay there were delays but here's the good news.
I got confirmation that pre-order customers from partnering stores can also redeem the TV.

Question: Do you know how many have pre-ordered in total? Assuming the bulk of pre-orders were from KL, then there is a very very slim chance of getting a golden ticket for new buyers.

The only "Guaranteed" way of getting a Golden ticket, is there is only one Golden Rule. Go there and Queue the night before.

Some dude asking if he go there and queue at 9am on launch day hoping for a "Guaranteed" Golden Ticket is the BIGGEST JOKE of the DAY!. laugh.gif
*
I guess your reading comprehension is very low.
I asked for a hypothetical question if all those who pre-ordered went to Midvalley to claim their golden ticket for the free TV, what are the odds that a new buyer can claim one.
Because we do not know how many pre-ordered and this is a question I asked Nasilemaktech if he has insider info on this wink.gif

And please, next time, you CAN directly quote someone instead of playing like a gossip girl. Kinda rude actually.
Respect begets respect.

Not sure, no specified time from 3 times I went Samsung roadshow. 1 time 6am they start distribute, 1 time at around 9am and 10am when starting to go in.

This is the humble reply we need in this thread.

Very useful for people who have no experience in roadshows.
Thanks 👍
