Do you guys think Samsung will release an update to solve/minimize the battery drain issue on S20 Ultra? Just can't accept the SOT for a 5,000mAh phone 😃

After the update, optimised power mode seems a lot better than medium power saving on my 20+

QUOTE(rahuldave @ May 4 2020, 05:25 PM) Around 5h+ with You are only getting 5 hours SOT in a day at 60hz display? I think something isn't right. Have you checked if there are apps drawing power in the background? I noticed some folks here being able to achieve around 7 hours on 120hz on WiFi, I'd imagine it can't be so far off on LTE.Medium Power Saving 4G only Deep Sleep Certain App Brightness 50% 60hz Display I only use for whatsapp, email, Shopee, youtube & etc.Not for gaming |

I noticed some folks here being able to achieve around 7 hours on 120hz on WiFi, I'd imagine it can't be so far off on LTE. Below are my SOT per differrent usages :Usage #1 - If 100% WiFI,120Hz screen, power optimize, no games, no camera and no video call then able to hit 7 to 8 hrs ++ SOT. Usage #2 - If similar setting as usage #1 but with minor camera usage for video call then will be ~7 hrs SOT. Usage #3 - If similar setting as usage 1 but mix with 4G data then will be ~6 to 6.5 hrs++. Normally ~6 hrs ++ unless extremely high usage with mix 4G data, camera, Skype business call, bluetooth headset for songs etc then only drop to slightly below 6 hrs. 4G data did consumed more battery especially worst if move between good and average signal area while camera is another power hungry apps too. Thx This post has been edited by chuah_ph: May 4 2020, 07:25 PM |

Have you tried diving deeper into which apps are consuming power in the background? Maybe you can disable those apps from using data in the background.QUOTE(chuah_ph @ May 4 2020, 07:08 PM) Below are my SOT per differrent usages : My point exactly. Thanks for the adviseMy point exactly. I think that's pretty good for the S20 Ultra. By the way, someone from XDA posted app to be disabled using Package Disabler Pro, here's the link. According to him, this would reduce the standby drain. Anyone has tried this? This post has been edited by rahuldave: May 4 2020, 08:15 PM |

My personal experience as well. Exynos throttles hard and stutters games. Banning samsung phones until it comes with local SD.

Its already turned off as i'm using Medium Power Saving. Standby drain would be 1% p/hour from my observation. Is it the same with you guys? |
