Maybe during the road show they'll have RM1000 off for two units again.
Ya man, no one keen to start one? You start one la bro, we'll  support! Are you gonna get the S20+ or S20 Ultra? Hahaha....
*
Ts Started ine already. tongue.gif

QUOTE(teamjoker @ Feb 12 2020, 07:25 AM)
With Huawei out of the scene due to GMS, Samsung don't need the luck. Their sales will still be good or maybe better.
*
There are other other competitors out in the market. Oneplus would be one of them. The super exp pricing coupled with a less competent exynos chipset on board would not be a good choice for many. For the price of the Iphone , many would go for the fruitphone instead. Fruitphone is still a fruitphone.

QUOTE(earthdome @ Feb 12 2020, 07:57 AM)
Price is so small to avoid people getting shock.

Even s20+ is crazy expensive
*
Haha...good one there but seriously yeah...

QUOTE(attw @ Feb 12 2020, 08:10 AM)
Right, had the M30 Pro come with GMS, a compelling argument can be made for it vs the S20 smile.gif
It's not without its flaws, but it addresses the two things that annoyed me on the Note 10+ - signal strength and standby battery drain.
*
You got the S10 lite bro?

For those concerned on the performance of the Exynos 990 vs Sd865, read the below comparision.

Well, 5 years ago my Samseng note 5 took pretty chicks as the same. Now maybe new 1+ model pretty chicks do stay the same as well but S20 take pretty chicks as fairies.... so of course S20 more worth it, Snapdragon models la. Haha.

Samsung's generally have better cameras, that I concur. nod.gif

QUOTE(ZeneticX @ Feb 12 2020, 09:49 AM)
i'm more interested in the Buds+

i'll be back here when users get their pre order sets brows.gif tongue.gif
*
You still haven't got your buds yet? shocking.gif Don't lar go offer people Rm300 for the buds. Where can get at that price. laugh.gif

QUOTE(attw @ Feb 12 2020, 10:13 AM)
Benchmarks don't mean much if they can't solve the basic issues like signal strength and standby battery drain as per my previous Note 10+ laugh.gif
*
You are absolutely right bro. And I don't have the time and patience to be doing bug troubleshooting or posting guides on this anymore. I will just stay with "boringly predictable" which works out of the box with frequent updates pushed to the phones.

Non essential items will be hard sell , unless of course Samsung International can come out with generous incentives.
*
This is somehow true. Unless Samsung comes out with "generous incentives" then would buyers opt to buy. Its very much a buyers market right now with so many choices and options. Any "generous incentives" do let me know ya attw brows.gif

Too bad no 256GB or 512GB for the S20 Ultra pre-order....
*
QUOTE(manx @ Feb 12 2020, 01:40 PM)
yaa... quite disappointed since no 512GB option fro the S20U
*
As it is already priced quite high, Samsung will have to charge you an extra Rm1000 should you opt for the 512gb. So it would make the selling even more less attractive. So they will usually start with the lower storage model first and then come up with the larger storage models later. Hold on first if you need a larger capacity model.

They never were. Even Maxis mentioned it wont be ready until 2021. So, so much for having a 5G capable phone when most you get is 4G here. You might have to turn off 5G so that the phone doesn't use unnecessary battery juice in searching for some unavailable network. laugh.gif

Haha, yeah, I used to say that if Samsung puts a 5000mAh battery in their flagship I would buy it, but now that I've had a taste of the forbidden fruit (SD processor in a Samsung) it's hard.

Plus the price of the Ultra isn't helping laugh.gif
*
You already know damn well that we are only getting the exynos version here. flex.gif

The S20 Ultra also comes with just 128GB storage? That's strange. In the past Samsung would be very generous with storage for a phone above RM4,000 (and in fact closer to RM5000).

Looks like they wanna match the fruit phone now...
*
Cant fault them. If they were to sell the 512GB it would mean pricing the S20 Ultra at Rm5999. But its a no brainer that anyone who could afford to pay rm5k for an Ultra would want to do with 128gb. rclxub.gif

TBH Emui on Android is not bad. Its much better than Samsung Experience in resource management, battery management and also gets updated more frequently.

The Huawei gets updated more frequently than the Samsung? That’s a first...

My last Huawei was the P20 Pro, and updates were far and few between. Came close to pulling the trigger for the Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 X and P30 Pro but in the end I held back. Anyways, won’t be considering a Huawei for the time being.

Anyways, let’s see how fast and how much the prices drop this round wink.gif
*
The mate 30 Pro was way earlier on android 10 compared to the Note 10 which only got it only recently. nod.gif

Price drop? Or SME will come up with the "Corporate Purchase" prices again so that it wouldn't make it look so bad. tongue.gif

Emui  i tried accepting in but in the end really cannot haha.
I also plan order from Mobile2go and tell them don't want wireless charger see can change other gift or not.
Ya I guess each one of us has preference over which OS we would prefer. Im not saying I like EMUI but I definitely prefer it over Samsung Experience for all the reasons.

SAMSUNG Galaxy phones are using One UI 2.0 now, no more Experience UI.

EMUI 10 keeps on killing the apps running background, thus it has better battery life than SAMSUNG Galaxy phones with Exynos processor ( but not Qualcomm Snapdragon processor ).
*
Sorry my bad. Its supposed to be One UI now. But I don't see much difference running OneUI on my Note 10+ now compared to Samsung Experience. Still heavily bloated as usual. Hopefully there would be changes on the S20. IMO the Mate 30 Pro has excellent battery life, matching the battery life of the OP7 Pro thus would be leaving the Note 10 + regardless of it is powered by SD or Exynos.

QUOTE(attw @ Feb 13 2020, 12:42 PM)
Ya, true. Anyways will wait for the masses to get their phones and see what their experience is like on the new Exynos. I'm not going anywhere near the preorder this round. I didn't pay much attention to the launch and spec sheets but really surprised to learn that the RM4999 S20 Ultra comes only with 128GB storage. Very Apple like already, hahaha (although one can argue Apple will still give you 64GB storage)
Then go with the S10 Lite, it"s more than sufficient for your needs. I've had it for 4 days now, and at the moment it's checking every box for me smile.gif
*
The report on the Exynos 990 is already out. So don't put your hopes too high on it. Lol.

Read this..

Judging from the review, it seems quite decent to me.
*
For sure the S20 series would not be too far off the top of the crop in the camera department. Samsung flagship has always been very good in the camera department.

i wonder why u guys comparing the modem between 865 and exynos 990, its not that malaysia will have advance 5g
*
FYI the Exynos does support 5G. What many here are comparing are the lacklustre performance and battery life of the 990 vs the SD865 equipped version of the S20.

Aiyo, still cannot compare between the 990 and the 865 la, considering the phones haven't hit the market yet. Everyone is comparing based on their previous experiences with previous processors laugh.gif

We should give the 990 a chance. Looking forward to read about the experiences from those who preordered.
*
Well... why not you buy the phone and try it yourself then? icon_idea.gif laugh.gif

If Samsung wants any more of my money this year they need to do better than this sham of a preorder laugh.gif

And what about yourself? Preordered? Hahaha...
*
Lol.. U know I know. The poorer network reception on the Exynos Note 10+ is the last straw for me. Wouldn't touch any Samsungs with a pole unless it's an SD model.
