I always buy my phone from T&L Telecom.
I am not afraid to buy import set for 1 reason - you have 7 days to thoroughly test your device and if it is lemon, you CAN return the phone for replacement or refund.

In ~5 years that I bought from them, I have never had any issues whatsoever.

Local after service is only important IF you are the clumsy type.

Why do I prefer buying from T&L? Simple. Phones are cheaper and they sell units which are not locally sold here in MY (Samsung Snapdragon units, other OEMs, etc)

Last time I bought import set for my Huawei Mate 9, the warranty itself is covers by the seller instead of Samsung Worldwide store.
So lets say I bought an AP set from DirectD, when I want to claim warranty, I can only goes back to Directd and not Samsung Malaysia Store.

But do only buy from well known AP Stores like DirectD, Brightstar etc as they provide better repairs and services

Yeah, I can imagine. Many reviewers did comment that the battery life isn't adequate for power users, I guess you're one of those!

Me too. Still using s8+. And it gotten very very laggy. Now I'm thinking to go with s20 or s10lite. But I do prefer pocketable HP.

After testing s10 lite i really love the one ui 2 haha. Feel very smooth, the gestures is smooth compared to huawei, realme and asus. Very close to 1+. I hope the s20 ultra would be the same smoothness. 

Tbh oneplus ui probably the best in terms of smoothness among android.
Used to have oneplus one before switching to s7 edge and was surprised to feel the s7 edge a bit "sluggish" compared to the oneplus but of course oneplus drawbacks is that they can't seem to get the camera right.
Now on Samsung train since s7 edge broke change to note 9 and now waiting for s20 ultra probably will switch to other brand after s20 ultra.

Even compared my Note10+, I love the video taken from my iPhone 11.
That is only iPhone 11, not the Pro one.
