QUOTE(Red_rustyjelly @ Feb 6 2020, 05:56 PM) trust me, don't be cheapskatethat "cheapskate" will backfire u once the 2 month warranty is over if u don't know anything abt cars at all, u won't be able to point out what is wrong with the car and you'll be in serious wallet trouble once it fail or just forego your vellfire idea and go for other cars that is sold brand new...why must u have a vellfire? u have to understand that buying a recond is basically buying a used car, there is no difference |

Nissan serena hybrid is a good value for money option although depreciation hits hard in the first few years. Or else, get a vellfire / alphard and standby another 20k for anything that may fail. I'm assuming you're looking for a 2013-2014 vellfire?

Reading through the war of comments, I find the comments abit not helpful.
What i can only decipher - You dont buy a car with warranty, if anything goes wrong, "its the end of the world. It's your coffin" Warranty warranty warranty. I mean, how horrible can it go? The whole car gonna explode and kill all the passengers, if don't buy a genuine Toyota with warranty? And Toyota is not gonna be responsible for a blown up car? (I had to exaggerate to knock some sense) RM 200K difference is a huge difference to justify going for a genuine , Toyota Vellfire. if its a Bimmer or Merc, okay , that's justifiable because of the spare part price. But a Toyota? Not even a Lexus. Toyota are as reliable as they can be. And even if let's say,in the event the CVT gearbox goes down, it can be fixed with a budget of around RM 5k. Not changing to recond part. There are CVT specialist out there. And there are 3rd party workshops (not those bawah pokok workshop) offering specialize servicing in recond Jap cars . yes there is pros and cons of a recond Vellfire / Alphard. People still buy it because of the price. And if it were me having a healthy budget for Vellfire, I would want to be seen in a Vellfire, not a Serena. No offense , but truth is, status wise, Vellfire is one class above Serena. |

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Yes i am looking around that year. The 2.5z offering about 190k to 210k. Parts wise there are alot of people in the market selling it so i wont be worrying too much. At least it has gear box not as espensive as my beemer that i am driving now, heck i dont even know why i bought it new when i saw my friend get the same model recond one with 30% lower price and nothing is wrong. I guess is luck. As for vellfire, there are offers giving 1 to 2 years warranty. I thought its gimmick but no. There are those without warranty but about 10-15% lower price. I do not want to buy new because it cost RM 400k +, and risk being stolen especially for this models in new. My wife doesnt like kia grand carnival because it looks bulky and like a van, even though i liked it. Serena is too small, i didnt like it so it boils down to vellfire. |

QUOTE(Red_rustyjelly @ Feb 6 2020, 08:56 PM) There is a website we can check the car history at a price, i did not bookmark. If you know kindly please post it for me. last time i did something like this i came across a shop that sell them alphard / veilf at singnificantly higher price when i asked why , he brought out thier listed cars all graded as A while others brought in down to D grades. thats why theirs much more expensive. never knew about them specsheet until i saw one. he advice me if ever in the market make sure demand for the specsheet 1st. explain alot. as lower grade usually come with accident case. |

QUOTE(speedy3210 @ Feb 6 2020, 07:32 PM) Kia Grand Carnival, diesel klunker. And the brand Kia. But its a damn good choice. I just think Vellfire more handsome. Resale value the Vellfire will hold down the line.Nissan Serena is smaller. Good choice if that's the size you want. Dunno anything about Honda Odyssey. TS UGPM, the person I bought from. So its personal experience. Super satisfied so I will happily recommend. QUOTE(budang @ Feb 6 2020, 06:44 PM) Or else, get a vellfire / alphard and standby another 20k for anything that may fail. The engine is bulletproof, so is the gearbox -- you not tekan-ing lah, its a MPV.This post has been edited by Jason: Feb 6 2020, 10:46 PM |

QUOTE(Jason @ Feb 6 2020, 10:43 PM) That bad? I thought the famous issue is the steering column. The engine is bulletproof, so is the gearbox -- you not tekan-ing lah, its a MPV. these vellfire are also famous for their ABS module problemu can't check it, u can only wait for it to fail and it's very expensive to change 1 of them my friend who owns a vellfire back then changed a few of these every year until he was so fed up...he traded in for a kia instead the power door sometimes will give u problems too...as always expensive to repair the SA that u engage knows nothing abt the car they're selling, their job is only to sell u the car u like they don't even know the condition the car it's in nor that they care a car that is grade C also they can say it's a grade A...u won't even know that's why the buyer needs to know themselves which part is wrong and needed replacement as someone mentioned, he is looking for a 2013-2014 car, it's a 6-7 years car, what kind of car that is 6-7 years old that is problem free? as compared to a brand new car? |
