just curious..
why you concern so much about ABS?
*
Te be honest, even I have my licence to drive big bikes, I am not so confortable on bikes.
Also, traffic and driving conditions are more dangerous in Malaysia for the weakest such as pedestrians, bikes, motorbikes...
Then, during the raining season, it gets very wet here very quickly and the roads are Ok but not great so it makes the all bike experience more risky.

If there is an feature such as ABS that can help me to be more safe, I am ready to pay extra for that !

Hello,

I am interested to buy a new scooter between 150CC / 250CC preferably with ABS, I considered Sym Jet 14 200CC, I also saw the Yamaha Nmax but it is only 155CC.

Any recommendation ?

Thanks

200cc in your budget left only modenas elegan 250 or kymco downtown 200

u can get one below 10k for almost brand new, but quality is so so.

kymco downtown 200 RM 4.5k! - https://www.mudah.my/2016+Kymco+Downtown+200i-81312689.htm

modenas elegan 250 RM 9.2k - https://www.mudah.my/Modenas+elegan+250-81266841.htm

even low speed?
i tot it make difference when above certain speed.

the feature is to prevent wheel lock due to sudden hard braking, so should be function as well on low speed.
By low speed i mean 40km to 50km/hour. Dont think anyone will ride below this speed in 200cc bike daily right.
Anyway even drop on low speed will hurt right, wheel lock on a bike is the thing you definitely wish to avoid.

u try brake at red light where the road is always full of sand

or when it's raining

even very slow 20km/h also u could slide with just one tiny sudden brake because other car swerve into your lane

I see, I did not know all that.

In the meantime, I tried a Vespa and it is a bit small when my wife is with me, therefore not so confortable. I currently rent a Yamaha Nmax 155 and I must say that it run well for only a 155CC.
It seems impossible to even see new Modenas elegan in motorbike shops in Penang as they say that scooters above 150CC do not sell so well

Thanks again for your imput, it is really great information.

I rent a Yamaha Nmax 155CC at the moment and I must say that it is quite Ok, power is fine when I am alone but a bit low with 1 passenger but still it is a pretty decent bike. I went to the Yamaha website in Indonesia wow ABS, connectivity and so on. It matches many things that I want, great bike.
It seems that ABS is becoming a standard on scooters.
Thanks for this information, let's hope it will come soon.

LED lights, bluetooth connectivity, USB port and keyless ignition are worth waiting.

Keyless - once you have it, you don't want it in any other way.

It feels like Malaysia market is always getting the short end of the stick, latest model ? We get it last. More features? Cut spec. New colors? How about a rm500 premium.

Why ? Our market not big enough ? Or the manufacturers just collectively trying to screw us.
