Hi Shaaa, speaking of this, your background is the issue, your bf isn't a problem. In Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and Brunei, anyone marrying a Muslim has to convert as well. In your case, they call it apostasy, I call it freedom to choose one's faith.

Sadly, you may bring your case to fight in court which will incur a lot of money and possibly no conclusion out of it.

Famous case here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lina_Joy

The ruling stated that "a person who wanted to renounce his/her religion must do so according to existing laws or practices of the particular religion. Only after the person has complied with the requirements and the authorities are satisfied that the person has apostatised, can she embrace Christianity.... In other words, a person cannot, at one's whims and fancies renounce or embrace a religion."[10]

Registration of marriage overseas apart from the 4 countries will not help either when the government wants official documents when it comes to government matters such as your children's school etc.

You may hide once, but you may not hide away forever - that's the benefit of being Malaysian - you belong to that community and should be enjoying those facilities and services. There will be schooling, then university, then healthcare, then buying properties etc. Would you want your kids to be like foreigners and they will one day wonder why.

Your children may have to end up being a Muslim on IC and face the same problems like you when you grow up.

We can only hope religion faith goes back to individual and not imposed by institution in Malaysia one day.

Jalan yang benar tak pernah memaksa orang.

Tuhan semenjak dahulu yang bagi adalah PILIHAN. dan dalam pilihan, kita perlu bgertanggungjawab atasnya.

Amin.

If you are a Muslim from birth and a Malay, it is impossible in Malaysia because the law prohibits it.

Because definition of Malay = Muslim.

Very sad case.

When Quran says clear.

There's no compulsion in religion - Verse 256 of Al-Baqara
