Hi guys, so I was a Muslim in Malaysia and I have a Christian boyfriend in Borneo. I'd like to know if I got permenant resident Singapore, can I change my religion there and then go back Malaysia and get married with him? Can I become a Malaysian back but with new identity (which isnt a Muslim)? Btw, I left not coz of him, we've been together a year where I left since 2016. Please help guys. ðŸ˜

It is very difficult to get Malaysian citizenship once you've given it up. |

my muslim sis in-law, ada kata, in indonesia, muslim and christian can get married. it still depends on area. so as in singapore, which offer interfaith marriage.
untuk gua, it will be very troublesome for both of you, if still staying in malaysia, since ur i.c oledi stated ur religion. beranak kat luar negara tak ada problem, but nak dapat citizenship for ur baby tu yang buat pening kepala. sending kids to international school, tak ada issue. |

Your option:
1) Go through the court process, you will be fined for some penalties. 2) Get married outside of Malaysia, then stay in Malaysia and live quietly. (Many ppl do this) 3) Get out of Malaysia, get married, and stay there. But what is the citizenship of your children later? |

There is a chance you may get tangkap basah if you sleep with him here in MY. SG civil marriage cert might not be recognised for muslim in MY.
Not sure if the above is true, as I don't have good authority on that. It's just my gut feel. |

Life doesn't stops even if you turn atheist and eat oink-oinks. If marriage is important between you two, go ahead and grab it. Don't bother about that because who knows, two to five years later many stuff change. Maybe that time China passport is the king. US resident step aside. |
