Most people do not understand that KPT, MQA and IPTA is the problem.

1. Money
KPT gets RM50b ++ out of RM250b budget annually. This is tax payers money. Where did it go? It went to fund IPTA. University like UiTM gets 2b, UM gets another 2b. But in return their KPI is to produce PHD students etcs. So they fake pass them lor. That's why cannot get job and they end up as public servants or grab drivers. Tax payer again pay for their salary. But they come disturb your business 99.

In comparison, PTPTN is in deficit of 2b over 20 years. But that's because PTPTN borrowed at 4% and lend out at 1%. So IPTS at fault?

2. KPT and MQA

The reason IPTS quality has dropped is because MQA is just a piece of work. KPT should shut down MQA. IPTS has been paying MQA salary yet they come up with half brain or no brain regulations. 15 to 20% of the course we study is MPU subject. Does that help employability? Also MQA sets program standard. You know la MQA hires highly qualified UM PhD type.

Long story short - close down MQA and stop funding IPTA.

Impose minimum STPM qualification to apply PTPTN loan (as limit, filter students intake system)

next day slowly the cancer will cure itself

The ptptn was set up as a corporate body, and have no power to enforce quality....

The powers rests with MoE (student and university quality) and MQE (course quality)....both failing in their jobs....

MoE lost moral ability to enforce quality when ipta is allowed to sacrifice quality for ketuanan policy....mqe is toothless in enforcement....

Reason to put minimum STPM is to limit future PTPTN loan applicants

depends from where he want to start the changes. either from bottom to top or top to bottom.

each has their pros and cons. you want changes according to your suit, go become MP & then edu minister.

ok include stpm/matriks/asasi/a-level as minimum apply ptptn loans

even total number students would be far less than current one that include anyone with spm

this way ptptn annual funding can be reduced drastically / cut costs

Ipts and private college uni same...
Di Mana Ada demand disitu Ada college uni...

But when come out...what u learn is out of date and not the skills that the company want. Demand for market need is totally opposite compared to demand for college.
Hence jobless everywhere

this! I don't understand someone's picking on IPTA, saying that they're bad. you have to look at the curriculum. most subjects are theory..hence lacking hands-on skills, as well as industry-related theoretical knowledge.
e.g Biotechnology students aren't taught on pharmaceutical/manufacturing-related knowledge. lepas tu apply jawatan QA/QC.

The problem isn't the colleges per se, but the demand, expectation of everybody that they CAN and DESERVE a degree....

Only the top 25-30% of the population have the intellect to successfully pursue a full standard academic degree....the next 40% is able to undergo a skill based technical training....and the rest do the routine works like clerical, sales, assembly line etc ....

In recognition of such population distribution, countries like Germany provide training accordingly to the appropriate sections of the population....more people in technical post-secondary education than in academic.....

Msia is grossly distorted because of the unique policies in place....

Ketuanan policies pushed many under qualified students into academic studies....

The buy-with-money private system allows anyone with money to buy any qualification irrespective of qualification or ability...(and because of this demand without any controls, effy ipts flourished).....

The end result is many people who shouldn't even be in academic studies, graduate with a piece of paper....

But they really don't have the intellectual ability to perform the job that the piece of paper claims....hence we have the current situation..... unemployable graduates, grads not working in fields they are trained in...etc....

That that happens when you commoditify education....
