QUOTE(thesoothsayer @ Jan 15 2020, 09:24 AM) QUOTE(drowning @ Jan 15 2020, 10:32 AM) Yes agreed! The same goes with those fishy private college, and even those established one should be scrutinized as well. It is not longer an education, it's just a money grab scam. People forget.....The "liberalisation" of education started in the late 80s.... The NEP policies and quota system was in full force....depriving many qualified nons of education.....as a blow valve, private higher education, then tightly controlled and poorly viewed, was liberalised, and the private sector encouraged to set up colleges....later granted rights to award degrees (university college status) and higher degrees (full uni status).... To help finance this, ptptn system was set up.....instead of public funding, the then gov pushed the responsibility to the student.... In other words ipts was allowed to exist so ipta can be "controlled" to comply with NEP policies.... Along the way, things started to go wrong....ptptn is easily scammed to extract money from public (it's tax payer funds) leaving the debt with students.... Controls of quality by MoE is poor....the new mqe wasn't effective.... Two human activities should not be privatised.... education and health.....once you leave it to market forces, skews starts to develop..... And here we are....lol |

QUOTE(fazlythewarrior @ Jan 15 2020, 09:37 AM) Agree. And perhaps MQA and JPT should be given kuasa untuk penguatkuasaan to check whether all their course accredited or not on time. Most popular college will do this every year even before MQA come to visit to check. Most people do not understand that KPT, MQA and IPTA is the problem. 1. Money KPT gets RM50b ++ out of RM250b budget annually. This is tax payers money. Where did it go? It went to fund IPTA. University like UiTM gets 2b, UM gets another 2b. But in return their KPI is to produce PHD students etcs. So they fake pass them lor. That's why cannot get job and they end up as public servants or grab drivers. Tax payer again pay for their salary. But they come disturb your business 99. In comparison, PTPTN is in deficit of 2b over 20 years. But that's because PTPTN borrowed at 4% and lend out at 1%. So IPTS at fault? 2. KPT and MQA The reason IPTS quality has dropped is because MQA is just a piece of work. KPT should shut down MQA. IPTS has been paying MQA salary yet they come up with half brain or no brain regulations. 15 to 20% of the course we study is MPU subject. Does that help employability? Also MQA sets program standard. You know la MQA hires highly qualified UM PhD type. Long story short - close down MQA and stop funding IPTA. |
