Try turning off Automatic Live Update and "Run Quick Scan whenever updates have been received".

I'm using Norton Internet Security 2007 and ran into performance problems.CPU & Ram is constantly used up.After turning it off,i see dramatic decrease in cpu usage.

I work as a vendor for one factory, they just upgraded to NOD32 from norton a few months ago.

Reason? Norton itself can't even protect the server from virus invasion. And while remove the norton from client PC, many of them cannot be uninstalled. Have to use the removal tools to remove the program.

Don't use norton, it really sux. Till now, it still sux.

Norton is really RAM eater. Never tried it but I don't think its good. Even McAfee which eat quite amount of ram as well performs better than it..

Not sure about Bit Defender. For KasperSky, my friend used it and overall it's good. Just that he said that the Firewall is a little complicated compared with McAfee..

i've avoided Norton since more than 5 years ago. those days you know la. around Celeron 400 - Duron 800 with 64mb RAM to 256mb RAM range and Windows 98/early XP. smile.gif

i'm satisfied with AVG and therefore not switching camp.

bitdefender sucks!! don't use it. They are being sold for RM49 or something right now to get people to buy them but they are ineffective in getting rid of malwares.

My friend's PC using bitdefender but got all sorts of virus problem. Then switched to avg, better but keep on prompting got virus and all but then switched to avira anti-vir. No more problems. Best of all avira is free.

But if you want good and stable antivirus, try nod32. It's quite effective (not 100%) but light on memory. Problem is, not so easy to learn how to use.
