My relative from renggam are visiting my uncle family. They saw my uncle neighbour in front has a tree and based on leaf pattern it is durian tree. They advise my uncle better ask their neighbour to cut off before it bears fruit. My uncle seems worried and politely ask his neighbour. His neighbour no worry this species won't grow fruits.
Btw, is it legal to plant durian tree in front of neighborhood? I saw ppl plant nangka manga papaya but never before durian.

Be nice to your neighbour. No regrets if it fruits. However do note whatever durian , hybrid or not, 5-6 ft in 5 years 12-15 ft 10 years time so need to constantly prune it.

Ok, as long as the tree root didnt destroy piping underground on future.. Btw for pokok durian when it fully grown, you can call majlis to cut the tree..
There some law if you want to do gardening outside of the house compound..

QUOTE(cofin @ Jan 4 2020, 07:04 PM) my musang king tree died if not i will same like the neighbor in your story . Afaik, durian trees need good drainage. That's why durian orchards are often located in hilly areas. Durian flowers are usually pollinated by nocturnal bats and moths which usually live in forests/jungles/caves, unless you do manual pollination by hand. So, usually no point planting durian trees in suburban or taman2 areas. .

Are there any concerns other than safety?
