Alright so I just set up my father’s maybank2u account. He has a car loan so he want me to show him how to pay his car loan online. He paid for his monthly car payment on 10th of every month. So you know how it will usually ask for a TAC for every transaction? So I made a mistake of assuming it would need a TAC (just like any other payment) and accidentally paid the car loan. (For context, maybank usually ask us to confirm the transaction and request a tac after that, this one ask for confirmation as well so I just assume it will need a TAC on the next step but it didn’t.) So basically I made another payment for this month’s car loan. I have never made a loan before so I’m not sure how this will affect the payment cycle Orz Because usually even if I overpaid my bills in a month it will just decrease the payment for the next bill. Of course I checked the loan balance and the payment decrease but will this messed up the next payment? What if my father just don’t pay for its January due? Thank you in advance, I’m just confused and feel bad if I just made a big mistake

As far as i know that would nt be a problem at all. you just gonna pay less 1 month from the total month you need to pay.

Can offset the payment for the following month or request the bank to process a refund.

do not skip for next month, u will get the penalty... it doesn't matter how much u pay this month, next month payment is next month payment..
best to contact bank to refund... or work something out with the bank.. do not skip... i did it once.. and i get penalty for that. good luck..

if u paid 2x this month, let it be. pay the next month as normal.
call the bank and inform them - and ask them when is the final payment due for the loan. they will tell you a date. and tell them you already paid 2x and the end date should be 1 month earlier.
they will take note of it.
but dont assume next month payment is already paid if u paid this month. banks are a little.....static when it comes to this

not a problem.. you are just paying january's installment in advance.. next payment should be on 10th feb
if you are still worried, login to maybank2u on 10th of january - go to the hire purchase loan page and look at "Installment due as of today" - it should be 0.

Maybank is the largest bank in malaysia. They have counter all over the country and they have Customer Service Call to entertain you. I always call their Customer Service for any issue and they served customer well.

I paid twice a month as well, so it just offset to the end of the loan payment. I will finish paying a month earlier than usual.

Since it’s technically paid? no. it will trigger late payment in system i accidentally did this once. i click pay now instead of wait for it to auto deduct from my account if u wanted to skip paying on jan, u need to go to maybank (where u sign the loan) and tell the staff to adjust it for you in the system *edit : and i didnt asked for a refund, cos it would took at least a week or two. nobody aint got time for that. i just ask them to turn my pay cycle back to normal This post has been edited by motion_sickness: Dec 30 2019, 04:23 PM
