Hi guys, does anyone know whether XBX bought from Spore can play all regions blu-ray discs?

Considering buying a few discs from Amazon but there is no indication as to what region the discs are.

Tx in advance!
*
Double check in www.blu-ray.com when buying discs from UK, EU, Australia, or Japan, as they are Region B.

No problems if bought locally or from US, since we're all Region A.

Audio delay issue seems to be very selective on my Series X. It's connected directly to my Yamaha RX-A3050 receiver with the provided HDMI cable, and a Ugreen 48gbps cable is used between my receiver and my TV.

It was very apparent in Halo 5, but other than that didn't really see it on other games

It's a bit mild on Halo MCC and Marvel's Avengers. No problems at all with other games.

Under the lipsync setting for your A3050, is it 0ms and [Auto] enabled? If so, that is what's causing the inconsistent delay. Also post process on the receiver should be set to [Direct].

Side note; A3050 also doesn't support VRR passthrough, so you're playing your XSX without VRR enabled.
*
Yes, everything set to direct.

Plus have no lipsync issues with other consoles or sources. Only isolated to Series X, and even then only obvious on Halo 5.

Lack of VRR doesn't matter since my LG OLED E6 doesn't support it either.

Almost all games I select Resolution mode over Performance, so most of the time I am playing at 4K30 smile.gif

Where is my GOLDENEYE remake!?!
*
Never gonna happen since the rights are tied up in legal hell, especially since Nintendo is one of those parties

Go get a jailbroken Xbox 360 to play the HD remake of GoldenEye... it's so much better than the N64 original smile.gif

Last time one PS3 game cost roughly RM129, then PS4 game around RM169
But PS5 games now ... RM239~269 or higher

Basically me now also just tengok Xbox Game Pass listing more than enough already  rclxm9.gif
*
Wah PS3 and PS4 games so expensive locally?

I always import my PS3 and PS4 games from Amazon or eBay last time, rarely pay more than RM120 with shipping if wait a few months after release

Same now with Xbox One discs, rarely more than RM60-RM90 per game

Most expensive Xbox game I paid for was RM110 for Red Dead Redemption II

Forza Horizon 5 and Microsoft Flight Simulator at the same price range as PS5 games though

Actually.....

https://www.trueachievements.com/game/Golde...07/achievements

It's one of those things that's been rumored for a while.  New achievements were recently uploaded and people have been earning achievements!  Also devs recently updated the names of some of the ahievements.  So yeah.... Things are moving and I was really hoping for an announcement on this.

My prediction is that it will be stealth dropped on gamepass at some point.
*
Potentially a true remake, rather than a remaster of the N64 game?

The problem had always been Nintendo, because they own the source code for the original game.

This was the reason why Activision developed a new version of GoldenEye for Wii, and later PS3 and Xbox 360 (as GoldenEye Reloaded).

I won't pretend to know what type of licensing hell goldeneye is facing.

All i know is that in my Uni days - We had a N64 in our house and we spent many nights on couch pvp bouncing grenades, using mines and slapping each other.  I'm just curious to see what rare will do with 25 years of hindsight.
*
Rare 100% completed the Xbox 360 HD remaster of GoldenEye 007, under the assumption that Microsoft would figure things out.

EON Productions is the owner of the James Bond intellectual property.

Activision had exclusive video game rights for James Bond at the time. This was before the disastrous release of 007 Legends.

Rare owns all the design and gameplay elements of the N64 GoldenEye game.

Nintendo owns the N64 GoldenEye source code.

As far as I can understand, Microsoft was able to work a deal with Activision for this game with Microsoft publishing and releasing it on XBLA, and Activision gets a percentage of revenues.

Unfortunately Nintendo declined to allow the release since they own the original source code.

Based on the Bond that walks in at the end of the video, this looks more like an upscale of the N64 original versus the Xbox 360 remaster hmm.gif

Will definitely give this a try once released on GamePass. Hopefully I am wrong.

It was then during the PS2 era that we started seeing NTSC/J Asia versions of games. Though most people would still only buy pirated games during the PS2 era, it was important in building the customer base in Malaysia. Since then, all major Playstation consoles were sold and supported in Malaysia. And people do buy them even without pirated content.
*
I agree with this.

PS3, PS4, and PS5 has proven to be successful for Sony Malaysia... and PS3 successfully staved off piracy for many many years.

And piracy is no longer an excuse for Microsoft, especially since the Xbox One NEVER had piracy.

On the other hand... in discussion with most of my gamer friends, nobody really cares about Xbox. Even when Xbox 360 piracy was rampant, practically everyone I know (including myself at the time) stuck with PS3 for some unknown reason.

Until today the Xbox still has a reputation as being a 'first person shooter[I]' machine, which is a turn off for those who don't play such games, even if such a reputation is no longer valid today.

Everyone I know is hard up for a PS5... but no one is willing to pay for a Series S or Series X console.

The OG Xbox may have been labeled as the shooter console, but it was actually not true for the Xbox 360. Microsoft tried so hard to get Japanese developers onboard. The 360 actually had MORE exclusive JRPGs initially, but the majority of Japanese players still didn't want to touch an Xbox. They would rather buy a PS3, for the same tired excuse that Xbox is a western console. When Xbox 360 was more or less the otaku console, due to the large number of Shmups and fighting games.
*
I went for PS3 over Xbox 360 cos I felt it was more value for money since it was also Blu-ray player, and a standalone player cost as much or even more than a PS3 at the time. Plus I REALLY wanted to play Metal Gear Solid 4, and finances limited me to choosing only one platform to support.

Also, the 'shooter console' image still applies even to the Series X. Many of my friends still consider I wasted my money getting a Series X, despite the fact that it is home to so many games from various genres.

My argument is that now both Xbox and PS have the same number of first person shooters anyway, but the stigma remains.

Well, I guess not much can be done when in 2022, people still think Xbox is the shooter console. Everyone is free to their own opinion. That just means they'll be missing out on some great games, all because of brand bias.
*
It's going to be moot in the next 10-15 years anyway when consoles go away, and everything is in the cloud.

I truly believe the next generation (PS6/WTF Xbox) is the final console generation... although I guess consoles will still live on in emulation machines and retro releases.

Sony's recent dabbles in the PC market and even releasing MLB 22 for the Xbox are signs that gaming platforms will go away. Everything will be unified - PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

Digital only games will cause problems with game preservation in the future.

Preservation of games for previous platforms is solely on the efforts of fans and hobbyists, as the major game companies have shown little interest in proper preservation.

While this does not appear to be a problem with PlayStation, since their discs and PSN downloads are in compressed PKG files, this will be a problem with Xbox as XB1 games and above are barely dumped.

This is more than just about piracy but in ensuring the original games can still be played accurately in one form or another in the future... and this is something Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft do not care about as we go full steam ahead into the digital only world of cloud gaming and distribution.

Well what games are great on the XBOX side though? I have both consoles and my series x is literally used to put stuff on when clearing my desk LUL (although i did finish Deathloop recently which is on gamepass, i guess that is a plus point for gamepass but most games are old or meh). I do plan on playing RDR1 on the SX as well as Arkham Origins, both of which cant be played on my PS5 so another plus point for the XBOX but most newer games i just play on my PS5, my SX is very underutilized as i dont see great new exclusives on the platform.
*
Well, I completely skipped the Xbox One consoles, so there's a lot of games new to me on the Series X that I missed out on in the PS4 era.

I still can't get my hands on the PS5, so I can't say, but on first impressions I would definitely use that for 1st party Sony games... and multiplatforms I will just refer to Digital Foundry and see whichever is better.

One thing I love about the Xbox platform is the lack of regional restrictions for DLCs and digital games smile.gif

I'm neither a PlayStation nor Xbox nor Nintendo fanboy - I just love 'em all from the 1990s until today. And that's why I have 14 consoles hooked up to my home theater right now.

I'm thinking about getting a console for my birthday
I've been played PS1 since when was a kid

Should I go for XBOX Series X?
Wanted to get PS5 but sold out anywhere tired of waiting
I like to play God of War, GTA, Call of Duty, car racing game
*
God of War is a Sony IP so it will never be available on Xbox... however, at least GoW: Ragnarok will be released on PS4

GTA V is readily available on Series X, you can opt to get this year's enhanced version, or the Xbox One version.

Microsoft owns Call of Duty.

As for racing games, Microsoft's Forza games are absolutely spectacular... and Forza Horizon 4 and 5 are some of the best Dolby Atmos showcase in games.

can we know all that 14 consoles?  tongue.gif
i skip ps4 and xbox one consoles, PCMR at that time.
so with Series X game pass, got lots of xbox one game, why not?
plan to buy external SSD (not the expansion card) for xbox one game and let the internal ssd only for series x game, but keep delaying it due to reasons. cry.gif

Analogue Super Nt
Nintendo 64
Nintendo GameCube
Nintendo Wii
Nintendo Wii U

PS1
PS2
PS3
PS4 Pro

Xbox
Xbox 360
Xbox Series X

Sega Saturn
MiSTer

Super Nt, N64, Wii U, PS1, PS3, Xbox, and XBox 360 are connected to a 8-port HDMI switch, which is connected to my Yamaha receiver.

Wii, PS2, and Saturn are connected to a 3-port component switch, which outputs to the RetroTink 5X, which shares a 3-port HDMI switch with the GameCube and MiSTer, and are connected directly to one of my TV's HDMI inputs.

PS4 Pro and Series X are plugged in directly to my Yamaha receiver.

It's a good idea to buy an SSD to store the XB1 games. I got a 2TB Crucial MX500 SSD and it works fine. I also have a 1TB mechanical hard drive to store smaller games (i.e. Streets of Rage 4, TMNT, Killer Instinct).

*
Which platform? tongue.gif

For Xbox, there's Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Forza Horizon 4 and 5, DOOM, DOOM Eternal, As Dusk Falls, Cuphead, and there's all those 4K remasters of old Xbox and Xbox 360 games

For PlayStation, there's Uncharted, The Last of Us, Spider-Man, Horizon, God of War

I haven't seen such a deluge of quality games since the 6th gen era.
