not really sure about that, maybe some others could answer this.

I think on games like fortnite you can already do cross platform party chat as long as they're friends? I don't play but I've seen my son doing it. If not they'd just communicate via their phones on discord or whatnot.

What I really want out of xbox live is some sort of family license. Right now I can only share xbox GP/Live on one console (right now that's the one x). Which means if i want to go online to play against my kids, I have to sign in to another non home console - which is the OG xone - which does not result in the best playing experience for me.

No bro, under xbox there are 2 version of Ultimate edition (optimized) based on the logo:

1) "Naked" Ultimate edition - without season pass and DLC
2) "Complete" Ultimate edition - with season pass and every DLC

This is kinda stupid move and cheat ppl using the wording "ULTIMATE" doh.gif
*
I’m pretty sure that’s not the case - I bought the ultimate at 20usd a week before it came to game pass and it pretty much includes all the dlc. Quite sure there weren’t other versions for sale.

I see why there is confusion now - control Xbox x/s version is on sale now for 27.99. The ultimate edition is still there but at full price for 40usd - this one includes xone, xs and all dlc Unfortunately the thumbnail used for both editions states that it’s the ultimate edition.

Does the ps+version come with the dlc?

Edit:the xs version that’s on sale also advertises itself as a bundle.. so the description is clearly wrong

Ya.. the store allows you to compare editions. Game title is correct but wrong thumbnail and description.

any idea where can get xbox series x controller original charge and play kit ?
thanks

Eneloops man...

Only Recently threw away some 11 yr old “Sanyo” eneloops because they stopped holding a charge.

They’re the reason I didn’t bother with the series 2 elite controller.

Edit - or the IKEA branded ones

Isn't it be troublesome to change the battery every time?
Is it safe to use a third party batteries pack?
I also feel like no enough storage to install large titled game. Can I use external SSD to install game?
Can you talk more about the media centre you referring to?
*
The ability to change batteries is the best feature. I always have 2 eneloops on standby and the interruption is like less than 1 minute. The controller tells you when it's low anyway. As mentioned earlier in this thread, the batteries last forever and there are some users with 12 year old batteries that still work. If they stop working you throw them out instead of buying a new controller with a built in proprietary battery. It's awesome because I still have accessories that are more than 10 year old that are still being used regularly. Guitars, drums etc all of which are BC with modern hardware.

Physical for xbox is dead. It has gone away and I don't miss it anymore. I still have tons of old original 360 games many of which are BC which are great and all, but I also wish I had the digital licenses for them to play on modern hardware. The games that I want to play again, I've rebought digital licenses for. But then again, there are many games that i will never ever revisit simply because life is too short, and thanks to gamepass I'll never run out of new games to play. (Also those Yakuza games thake forever to complete).

Even at RM60 a month, XBGP is good value even if all you did this month was 1000/1000 Neoverse because OCD.

Also, with EA buying codemasters, i wonder if Dirt 5 is coming as part of the EA Access or actually XBGP. (Not that it makes a difference)

Man, seeing you guys already playing Series consoles make me feel left out. It's already mid March and it doesn't look like GH is ever going to get hold of Singapore units with retail pricing.
*
Same boat. But it's not as bad as previous generational jumps. it's more like the jump from xbox one to one x and my one x still has a lot of life in it.

Currently playing Immortals fenyx rising which is a decent breath of the wild clone.

Agreed. Remember the first year of the 360? We got some ports like Marvel Ultimate Alliance, King Kong, Tomb Raider Legend. They were definitely nicer to look at than the Xbox or PS2 versions. But it didn't scream next gen. The first game on 360 that made me go Wow was Rumble Roses XX. It was very shallow to play, sure, but man those graphics. Then slowly but surely we saw more games that couldn't have been done on previous gen.
*
hahaha rumble roses. Did everyone buy that? i think rockstar table tennis and that were my first games.

Xbox knew who it was catering for with DOA xtreme beach volleyball 1 and 2 being system exclusives.

For sure, series x will be a step up from one x but for now i can still wait.

Officially HBO Max is only out for the US. VPN pretty much the only way for now. Not sure if Smartdns can bypass region restriction or not.
*
Congratulations on new toy!

HBO Max worked with a smartdns provider like getflix last year when they had their free month without signup. I'm currently using amazon prime US with smartdns, hulu+ worked so disney + should also work. Difficulty with those though is our credit cards are geo-locked.

The only one which doesn't work properly with smartdns is the netflix app.

I'm waiting for the new chromium edge browser to come to xbox with the hope that the hbogo asia webpage will run on that. (since theres no app for that)

Can’t say - I’m still watching on a 10 year old tv so it’s limited to 1080p

I know man - it's a 45" sony that i got for nearly RM4.5k 11 years ago - Big money then haha. Picture still looks great after all this time but its too small and low res now...

What's a good recommendation for a budget of up to RM8k?

xbox controller bogged down by heavy battery. use lighter batt u can feel lightweight smile.gif
*
It took a bit of adjustment to get used to from the xbox one controller as this one feels slight smaller. Yes, it's not the lightest controller but lightness is not always desirable. I remember I had a logitech mouse with optional weights you could use to make it feels heavier and more stable haha.

Yeah the dpad is much more precise. Used to need a fight stick to do combo training for beat em up games but i found that it was not impossible to do in DOA6 using the xsx controller.

The other QOL thing that I really like that i've been using the last few days in the quick switch button on the controller to quickly swap between playing Hades on my laptop and picking some kids show on netflix on the xbox for my kid. So easy... double press to xbox and long press to go back to PC.

there should be a balance, too heavy makes ur hand tiring after long session cos u hold controller in the air, with support. not like mouse it stay most the time on the table, which the weight is more to tune the precision of the movement.

series x definitely weight just nice for me. i have bought eneloop lite rechargeable batt which is perfect for the controller as the batt is alot lighter than normal capacity. downside is always the batt need to get recharged more often. Dont know why they discontinued eneloop lite in malaysia.

im getting zmi lithium batt next to try. lithium means even lighter batt at better discharge capacity.
*
I've been an xbox gamer since the original xbox so I've gotten used to the weight, feel and configuration.

The current controller is nothing next to the chunkiness of the original Duke. Or if you want to go really far back the sega saturn 3d controller lol.

Now would be a great time to buy XBX from Impulse, can get RM280 cashback on Shopee. Didn't expect they would get it, missed out on that as I made the purchase few days before  bangwall.gif

Damn you for making me set up a shoppee pay account at 730 in the morning!

27990 coins from 10% cashback. but can only use like 3k coins = rm30 per purchase. got daily n weekly limit also
*
It's not the worst reward and at least there's a cash equivalent. Was trying to use up air miles and credit card points end of last year and shoppee did help due to its flexibility.

Anyway, order has been made. Now all that's needed is the new TV.

I just went with the BX as the price below RM9000 now for 65 inch. Which size you're getting for CX?

I think i'd be quite happy with the 55" - I'm just shopping around for the best extended warranty terms and might just go with harvey norman.

Even sony's flagship wh-1000xm4 is already RM1600 and I have a pair of bose quietcomfort 35s that i got for around those prices. Roughly 2k for B&O headphones are not really crazy prizes for premium cans.

However i paid those prices because i was a frequent flyer before covid so they were heaven on 7 hour flights and well worth the price. 2k for headphones that are used primarily in the home had better sound damned nice to be worth the price.

edit: yeah it's ridiculous to replace pleather ear-cups on premium headphones after a few years due to them disintegrating. Thank goodness for cheap china replacements from lazada/shoppee.

edit2: apparently the B&O headphones can't do bluetooth and xbox wireless at the same time unlike the cheap USD100 ones.

Anyway the xbox series x arrived yesterday. Surprised it arrived so fast after ordering on Sunday. Shipped Monday and was dropped off by poslaju around 3.

Plugged in the one x external hard drive, downloaded updates and account settings and presto everything ready to play. As easy as buying a new handphone. Almost.. still had to enter login credentials for all my media apps - netflix, plex, prime etc.

Tested out smart delivery for some games, they really did make it idiot proof in terms of just having everything work out of the box. Games do look better, but i think that's got more to do with the LG CX hahaha. I'm playing octopath traveller at the moment and i'm pretty sure its not stressing out the processor but it's much prettier with the new 4k screen and the HDR.
