Hi all...

Firstly, i would like to say thank you to all P.Jarak participant for making the recent trip a successful one.

Tho most of us did not get any fishes, some encounter big bites and snapped line, clean cuts from toothy tengiri and baracuda, to me it's still a fun trip to be in. As i always says "Getting a fish is a BONUS, the trip is to enjoy ourselves" smile.gif

As for me, i lost 6 jigs, 4x to the toothy creature, 1x sangkut to the shipwreck, 1x terbang when i cast towards the frenzy tengiris. smile.gif

Practically we went to 3 spots(correct me if i'm wrong), 1st shipwreck, 2nd sand banks and 3rdly the tengiri spot. As to my chat with the locals at Sitiawan(via phone), the wreck is one hell of a great spot where you will not return empty handed. Sad to say, it happened to us. Our sounder shows plenty of fishes and much activities, but the fishes is not willing to take the jigs.

My take to possible failure reason is the wind and the weather. There was practically zero wind and sea was not choppy at all! It was purely a glass-like sea waves. smile.gif The weather was bright but overcast skies. Not too bright and not dark at all.

I believe if the weather would be brighter and there is some winds, the catch/strike ratio would be much better. Will definitely gonna try there once more.

There was some incident between our group vs the boatman where he brought a so-called skipper but jigging most of the time. Honestly, speaking, if the skipper does his job and then join us for fishing, i'm fine to pay the bills but most of the time i see the skipper was jigging. Ah Cong was not very happy when i told him such scenario and request to include him into the bill.

Reason and answers
1. Skippy should be maneuvering the boat or anchoring process - which the skipper did not do at all. Thus it's slightly unfair for us who is paying for the boat.
2. Ah Cong can bring whoever he wants coz it's his boat - but we are paying the sum and rented his boat. At least if he informs us that there's a guest, many issues could have been resolved easily. I believe all of us would not mind to pay slight extra.

Sigh~

For Infos:

From our shoreline to 3miles, it's malaysia land
From our shoreline to 200miles, it's diplomatic land. meaning that any of us can cross each other.
From 200 miles to 210miles, it's international water. IF there's still sea la...

From Lumut 200miles can go straight till Indonesia mainland liao...kekeke... smile.gif

Even Jarak, you have to stay close to the island withint the vicinity of 3miles. However, Jarak is much safer now as there is a marine/navy tower in the island liao. smile.gif

I was thinking either
1. indo border - day trip
2. jarak shipwreck - overnight

anyone keen? I dont mind making another one smile.gif

Added on August 7, 2007, 3:44 pmbro VW,

Charles from SeaTackle says either he might re-order the whole batch(if no stock liao) or search for the rod blank but you have to wrap it yourself.

Talking about $$, he say small matter only, not sure if it's small fee only or free smile.gif

tatao ler...

btw what is the plan for this weekend?

Another thing to discuss is our AG trip.

My proposal:
1. Departure on 31st Aug morning 9am
2. Reaching Lenggong at about 12pm and visit the Perak Man(I'm sure you have not heard of Perak Man - do a search on google smile.gif)
3. Check in to hotel at 2pm - rest and refresh
4. Shoot towards Banding at 3.30pm which is 40km away from Gerik - Shore casting at Banding Island Resort
5. Wake up at 6am and shoot towards KAG - this is the actual battle for the trip
6. Reaching hotel at about 8pm, dinner and rest.
7. Cruising back to KL as soon as we wakes up and hunt for food along the way.
8. We can also recce Bandar Bogak on the way back till evening and back to Cheras.

This weekend hunting Toman in special place, you can come if you want to. smile.gif Departing from KL at 6.30am, meaning that you will need to wake up by 5~5.30am to meet up with us. smile.gif

Next weekend, I'm heading to P.Sibu

Next 2 weeks, will be hunting for Toman as usual. Perhaps will be recce-ing a new place recommended by bro VW.

Next 3 weeks, will be Banding, Air Ganda and Bandar Bogak in 3 days smile.gif All toman hunting.

ok bro Q,

I'm asking for best dates for Jarak.

Honestly speaking, i'm kinda skeptical on the dates proposed by Cong. Doesnt seem productive even tho he says it's a good day. sad.gif We had couple of rounds in such scenario liao.

I'm starting to plan for the solunar calendar so that our catch rate can increase.

Apparently as per my search infos, it's best on full moon or tarak moon time. This you will get from the oversea prediction ler. Bear in mind that their side of moon WILL NOT differ much on our side of moon. Only some hour difference....

Hmmn....this set me back on the research again..... sad.gif

Cross checking on my PDA software, the best time for fishing is either the moon opposite of the sun or the moon close/near to the sun. In such scenario, you get to see the moon or vice versa. hmmmnnn......
