I have some questions.

1) Have you ever calculated how much is needed to raise a child in Msia until at least 18 years old?

2) If you have, what made you took the leap (knowing it is VERY expensive)?

3) Does the cost scare you? This goes especially to the men who are supposed to be the provider.

Yes; it will cost up to an average of RM350,000 to raise a kid until the kid graduates with a degree.

2) If you have, what made you took the leap (knowing it is VERY expensive)?
Serious Answer: Accident happens.
Not-So-Serious Answer: Janji pancut dalam.

Are men suppose to be the provider? It should be both both parents (father and mother).

Kids is good for me when I get older. Sure you have to support them now, but knowing that at least, they can help you when you old, it is good enough for me.

I get this from Asians a lot. When they say this, all I hear is 'I use my children as retirement plan'. Sounds like a selfish reason to have children though. No offense.

I have had the same questions as you for the longest time (also the sentiment about not having kids just for the sake of having people take care of you when you're old, which to me is really selfish). And now that I'd only gotten married 2 months ago people have been asking non-stop for us to have kids dry.gif
