Been wanting to get a baby alpinist for some time, but ended up getting a Christopher Ward C63 Sealander 36mm just about 3 months ago. Then came this beauty black edition of the alpinist... Couldn't resist and got it at a pretty good price. Loving it!

Hi, do you guys have recommendation for a nice budget seiko watch? Something simple for office and night events (pairs well with blazer/black tie).

Was looking at this and thought it look real classy: https://s.lazada.com.my/s.UrIKd

Wondering if there’s a white base or better suggestions. Totally new at this category watches - just been using G Shock lol.

Budget of RM500 and below. Looking to purchase one to commemorate being a parent haha. Btw is there any shop in KL/KV that does engraving? Is there space for it at the back of a seiko watch?

I have a similar watch but with a blue dial. Swapped the bracelet with a brown croco embossed leather strap. The sunburst blue dial looks stunning. Depending on your wrist size, the watch may be small to some, so best to try it out first.

Nice, got a pic or link to that seiko watch model?

You’re right on the wrist size. I like em watch big, currently using a 44mm watch so maybe smtg around 38-40mm would be good.

Will check out some shops this weekend!

You can check out Kedai Jam May May.

The SNK is probably one of the best value for money pieces out there. The model you listed was even featured in Hodinkee.

It is SNKL43K1. Case size looks like 37-38mm and wears small. It is fine for a 15.5cm/6inch wrist. But you don't want to wear a big dress watch.

The movement does not feature a hand wind so you can only shake when it is out of power.

Attached Image

bought this just to toy around with a blue dial so I only wear it on a rare occasion.

I was told that this model is a made in china movement and therefore not worth to service when the watch is not performing because of the price of the watch.

seiko has many factories (japan, singapore, malaysia, etc.), so parts can be sourced and assembled elsewhere. The 7S26 is a cheap, cheerful and very durable movement.
too cheap until ppl do not bother to service the movement (well, most watch service centers are more keen to service swiss made movements).

Hi guys, after trying out physically at a local watch shop, found this model quite nice & fitting as a 40mm:
https://s.lazada.com.my/s.UDf4G

After all the LZD discounts, the price is RM676 now.

Do you guys think this is the best pricing? Should I wait for 4.4 or 6.6?

I checked the physical shop can only offer me RM708 max. Let me know what you guys think!

You cant go that much cheaper sudah..used also last time i saw around 550-600. Considering opportunity cost and etc. Rm676 worth it imo...whack only bro.

If you buying something that cost a few thousand..then i suggest u betul2 careful....i know this because I was in your exact position when i just started out. Then later down the line you realised u spent thousands...xD

Thanks for reply bro! I was thinking for too long then out of stock aredi haha.

Will check out this pricing again for next round. RM600 is a big investment for me so I’m proceeding with caution haha.

I suggest to buy at the physical shop. Difference only RM30++. If you buy at city chain and join as member can get another RM50 off.

I'm not sure which one you are referring to, but go take a walk in Pertama Complex, they usually will carry some of the lesser known and older models.
