Hi, do you guys have recommendation for a nice budget seiko watch? Something simple for office and night events (pairs well with blazer/black tie).

Was looking at this and thought it look real classy: https://s.lazada.com.my/s.UrIKd

Wondering if there’s a white base or better suggestions. Totally new at this category watches - just been using G Shock lol.

Budget of RM500 and below. Looking to purchase one to commemorate being a parent haha. Btw is there any shop in KL/KV that does engraving? Is there space for it at the back of a seiko watch?

I have a similar watch but with a blue dial. Swapped the bracelet with a brown croco embossed leather strap. The sunburst blue dial looks stunning. Depending on your wrist size, the watch may be small to some, so best to try it out first.

Nice, got a pic or link to that seiko watch model?

You’re right on the wrist size. I like em watch big, currently using a 44mm watch so maybe smtg around 38-40mm would be good.

Will check out some shops this weekend!

It is SNKL43K1. Case size looks like 37-38mm and wears small. It is fine for a 15.5cm/6inch wrist. But you don't want to wear a big dress watch.

The movement does not feature a hand wind so you can only shake when it is out of power.

bought this just to toy around with a blue dial so I only wear it on a rare occasion.

I was told that this model is a made in china movement and therefore not worth to service when the watch is not performing because of the price of the watch.

seiko has many factories (japan, singapore, malaysia, etc.), so parts can be sourced and assembled elsewhere. The 7S26 is a cheap, cheerful and very durable movement.
too cheap until ppl do not bother to service the movement (well, most watch service centers are more keen to service swiss made movements).
