i saw base lending rate at 6.75% per annum.

you can ask the sales to count the price you owe with bank after 6 years, and the trade in value.

normally for a toyota if you installment after 6 years, you will earn for sure if you sell.

no point trading in your car to get a new toyota and continue your loan another 6 years?

depends on the interest rate toyota offer.
maybe first 6 years is 6% but the remaining years is 8%?

you need to check with them more. uncertain about the rates.

In their example

loan RM90k
First 6 years monthly RM957
Last 3 years monthly RM1,242

vs

9 yr normal hp loan from bank at 2.6%/annum = monthly RM925 for 9 years.

Did I miss something? because it seems like you are paying a lot more under the tier-ed scheme by Toyota Cap.

This 2-tier plan is suitable for fresh grad or working adult which do not have strong finance ability, their interest is about 3-4% while bank is offer 2.2-2.5% depends on your profile...

After 6 years you can trade in for new toyota, but have to check what is the T&C, probably you will not get any cash return and the car you trade in is for new car 10% d/p only...

Just imagine last 3yrs loan balance is RM 1,242 x 36 = RM 44,712, a 6 years car i guess maybe only can sell 40k-50k.

Then you will have to pay the 10% down payment for your next trade in car, since the maximum financing is 90% only

If cant afford to finish paying within 5years then don't bother to buy new car.

Lots of used cars within 10k.

My friend bought nissan tried to sell off after 2years, just to know that the need to compensate additional 15k or more to sell it to dealers

Cars experience the most depreciation in first 3-4years period. If anything happen to your job you can't sell it off, instead must top up somemore.

Like that a lot of people cannot buy new car already eh...

Lots of them buy car already no money to service the car. End up delaying the service and car engine become bad condition. On the outside can see put spoiler lah, do ceramic coat lah, modify kau kau...but engine buruk....LOL

That's the ironic part actually...

I see some FB posts asking how much is 10K service, 20K service - I look at the bill - RM200-400 for service at authorised SC is actually pretty reasonable [Local cars] yet many comment it's pricey etc. Can't understand that sort of mentality. Then other posts all show off bodykits, grills, rims, wrap, repaint, etc. I know cos I also kena racun but I backed away from getting sports rims now cos I don't wanna spend unnecessarily.

When they buy new car, usually look at monthly instalments only.

Never include true cost of ownership that include instalments, service, wear and tear parts, insurance, fuel costs, tolls, parking etc.

Like in x70 FB group, got one guy previously drive myvi, was asking about x70 FC.
I think he fill up previous car can last for a week, now x70 lasts for 4days only. So that's additional 200-300 fuel cost to him per month on top of new instalments plus expensive insurance.
He's gonna have heart attack when comes to changing tyres I bet

That's the thing I said. They only look at monthly installments not the true costs of ownership

This is under your control
Let me tell you things that not under your control.

Insurance nowadays must repair back at SC for accidents if not void warranty. I drive Mazda and accident before so I know their policy regarding accident claims.

Like CX5, I saw repair bills just hit one side. Damaged front lamp (4k one side), bumper (2.5k), grill (2k). Like that the claims easily go up to RM 10k. Bang ppl bumper break 2 lamps = 14k repair bill

One simple accident can burn big hole in pocket.

Even if some motor hit your rear corner butt, there's radar device behind that corner for blind spot monitoring. So bumper + that radar system you got to fork out from own pocket it it's motor that hit you.
( Front bumper Mazda logo is actually a radar device built inside ).

SC only replace, they don't repair.

If it's your fault you burn NCD. Meaning you start all NCD all over again which costs at least 7k before hit NCD full discounts again.

I tell you lots of ppl dont know accidents repairs costs at SC. Not only you bang ppl or ppl bang you, sometimes sohai go bang pillar during parking can make you broke also as repairs exceed 8k easily

i ask toyota salesman before, even they not recommend to take toyota capital except if u have ctos or ccris. toyota capital is last choice. he also said, eventhough toyota offer can trade in new model after 6 yrs, it depend on car market value at that time. if your installment total is less than market value, u still need to top up money plus 10% dp again for new model.
