QUOTE(nexona88 @ Jul 29 2021, 10:12 PM) Well .. Many of us hope for stable dividend.... Acceptable with current situation... BUT with all this rubbish going on.... I doubt.... Wait & see how it's goes... I have to agree. There is so much going on at the moment that might affect the dividends that anything really is possible. Perhaps a better way for me to have put it would have been to say that it would suit the government to have ASNB Unit Trust holders happy with this year's dividends.

QUOTE(missfarren @ Aug 2 2021, 11:24 AM) just afraid most money in asm3 We are heavily invested in ASM2, ASM3. Anything less than 4% and we will withdraw everything. Anything better than 5% (very unlikely, I admit) and we leave everything in ASNB. Anything between 4% and 5% will see a pro rata withdrawal of funds.

QUOTE(Haloperidol @ Aug 2 2021, 04:25 PM) Leave and go where ? That's my question. Lets get serious. When you invested in ASNB you are seeking for literal zero risk and higher dividend than FD. Withdraw and go to FD ? That doesnt make sense. 4% higher than FD now. You are HNWI being offered higher tier dividend ? You already run from ASNB instead of staying. Reciepts ? Bonda ? Not so zero risk specially default rate going up. Anything related to stocks, mutual fund, crypto defeat the purposes of literal zero risk. Move to KWSP ? Youngster cant withdraw at their will... Eventually this pic speaks for itself Its a complicated situation for us. I am from UK. My wife is Malaysian so the ASNB funds are obviously in my wife's name. We can extract them though and invest offshore in my name. Had I listened to advice and done that a year ago we would have made over 20% this year. Realistically, we can expect 6% to 8% net. QUOTE(coolguy_0925 @ Aug 8 2021, 11:16 AM) MattSally ASM2 Wawasan dividend in less than a month Are you excited? Intrigued I think, rather than excited. 4% remains my benchmark. Anything less and we have some big decisions to consider. Anything more (even 4.5%) would signal that we are over the worst of the economic consequences of Covid-19 imho. There are a lot of factors at play which now make it very difficult to try to predict the ASM2 dividend. The market crash of Mar/Apr 2020 should be washed out of the figures and the recent trend vector on dividends is positive, albeit, only just. On the downside, there are the economic effects of lockdown to consider and who knows what political input there may be in the dividend. My wider (global) concern is that many economies are now booming but that is mainly because of the printing of trillions and trillions of $. That has to lead us into a period of hyper inflation, high interest rates etc. This may sound ok to a substantial net saver but I fear that we may go too far in this direction. That would lead to more than just bad economic consequences imho. There is no point in getting 8% dividends if inflation is running at 15%. I saw that in the UK in the 1970's and it didn't end well at all. This post has been edited by MattSally: Aug 8 2021, 05:56 PM

QUOTE(coolguy_0925 @ Aug 9 2021, 12:05 PM) Agree If the dividend is high but inflation skyrocket, which we alraedy see now we actually became poorer Less buying power now Well, we shall see soon enough. I might be clutching at straws a little here but the National Recovery Plan may just improve sentiment (and dividend) a little. Vaccine rollout seems to be progressing well after a slow start and the high infection numbers are now being attributed to more testing being carried out rather than an actual lack of progress. All things considered, I am cautiously (very cautiously) optimistic.

Is anyone feeling brave enough to guess at the imminent ASM2 dividend? Even more factors at play now.

QUOTE(cklimm @ Aug 15 2021, 08:54 PM) A safe guess I think. But, nothing would surprise me given the current situation. I am hoping for just a little higher. Maybe 4.25%. This post has been edited by MattSally: Aug 15 2021, 10:37 PM

QUOTE(familyfirst @ Aug 16 2021, 12:55 PM) It cannot be lower than SSPN so Im rooting for 4.25% as well, better if 4.5% but it aint gonna happen. Fingers crossed. We will find out soon enough but I also think 4.25%.

QUOTE(MGM @ Aug 17 2021, 09:28 PM) While waiting MYR has dropped ~3%. I know. It is a real dilemma. If we move funds into $ or GBP we do so at a bad rate but if we do not do it, the rate could get even worse.

QUOTE(coolguy_0925 @ Aug 27 2021, 11:46 AM) Thought you're fine with 4% but sad to see you go Please let me know when are you withdrawing TQ! Only considering at this stage. Its complicated. I am trying to transfer my resident visa in Malaysia from mm2h visa to spouse visa. If I can do that then we will stay in Malaysia and remain invested. If I can't get a spouse visa (no reason why not I hope) then we will have to leave Malaysia and take our funds with us.

I think it is 6 months but you may be correct. On mm2h I can't work at all though!

QUOTE(TheEquatorian @ Aug 30 2021, 12:56 PM) No conditions from my understanding. EPF is my preferred vehicle for MYR investments because of the stability and their investments abroad (compared to PNB). So I top up with 60k every year. PNB are, I believe, steadily increasing their investment in overseas markets. I guess it will still be 4% for ASM3 though at the end of the month.

QUOTE(daidragon12 @ Aug 31 2021, 09:16 AM) Very interesting. I wonder how volatile this 'high risk' investment fund will prove to be? Certainly worth following but, for the time being, I will stick with ASB, ASM funds. I would rather get 4-5% every year than 10% one year and nothing (or negative) the next.

ASM3 dividend is due at the end of the month.
Does anyone think it will be anything other than 4%?
