indeed. using on flight or train, the 13-inch size is totally perfect. importantly, i love the design and overall layout too particually the keyboard and touchbar area. it is more compact and without so so much 'extra' space than the 16-inch/15-inch one.

Yes, you should get the ipad. I use it to stream videos from my computer and pass it to my small kid to watch. The touch screen wont work and even if you press the button, will still need the ipad password. Kids wont be able to mess up my ipad functions. Something like guided access but you get to control contents from the computer.

how to purchase apple care for this macbook 16, been travelling a lot...I went to machines, they asked me to purchase it online...transaction declined do to malaysia credit card not accepted since there is no Malaysia option for online purchase...pffttt

Make sure you go to the correct online store. There is Apple Care and Apple Care+ which is different and only available in certain countries. If you buy Apple Care+ means only can buy in that country store and use the country credit card.

I managed to buy a Malaysian Apple Care with a foreign bought Macbook. So, the other way around should be possible also. However, I'm not sure about what happens when you want to get service. If you are in Malaysia but you have Apple Care+, you may not get 100% of what you paid for.

so how long the battery will last based on your average usage, didn't gtt a chance to test mine yet...

Nope. Malaysia only sells Apple Care not "plus". The only thing with "plus" is you get coverage for accidental damage to screen etc. But only limited to 2 times. And for each time, you have to pay a small fee. For example if break your screen, they will replace it for you for RM400 if you have Apple Care+ vs almost RM2k (not sure the price) if you ask apple to change it for you. I would buy Apple Care+ for phone. But MB maybe less change of drop right?

I just bought AppleCare for my 16" since I spec-ed the higher end 32Gb one and it looks like I'll be keeping this machine for the full 3 years. It's been a long time since I've like a MBP this much. This one is a joy to use.

Actually you can buy Apple Care+ from a foreign online store. Either HK or anywhere. If you bring it in for repair in Malaysia, they will usually honour it. I did that for my Apple watch and they changed it for me for free although my screen was broken accidentally. And in fact didnt even charge me the replacement cost which I would have needed to pay in HK. Not sure if it was a one off event but the mac center initially told me I had to pay for the repair but then called me back and told me Apple asked them to waive the charges.

After discussion with you guys I decided just to buy the Apple Care+ now instead of waiting till the end of the year. Noticed that the price of Apple Care+ is even cheaper as compared to Apple Care in Malaysia. And for Apple Care+ only can buy within 60 days of purchase.

Yes, need a local credit card for that country and address in the country you are buying it in. Not sure if those debit cards that can buy in 7-11 and top up works or not.

Guys, my 16 inch seems to be heating up a lot while using on my lap. And when used with a lot of eternal stuff the fan is spinning furiously. Anyone having the same problem? Maybe about time to get holder for it.
