Just got my home Unifi'd with 300 Mbps in Sura Hujung, Dungun, Terengganu. TM now is very aggressive in deploying Unifi around Dungun town area. BTU is from Huawei. But I got the old TP Link router, anyway to request to change to the latest DLink MU-MIMO router?

It is my request. What do you mean by properly? I hang it on high place to optimize coverage.

Wanna get some opinion from 100mbps user.

How fast you download a file from internet with size of 1gb? 10 minutes or more or below 30 minutes?

I do ask my colleague on this. He's using 100mbps package. He download 1gb file about 10 to 15 minutes. While mine is like 5 to 6 minutes download time.

How heavy the usage of my current unifi?
— 2 pc. 1 use direct cable, another use wifi. Most for online gaming & video streaming. During weekdays, only use night time while on weekend is 24 hours except 6 hours exception as all household asleep
- 4 mobile device. 1 heavy on social apps, other 3 mild social apps but heavy video streaming.
- downloading files with size of 1gb is like twice a month. Steam games rarely download. Like 4 month once if steam have new games ready for purchase. Size vary depend of what type of game's graphic complexity

Sorry if this question has been raised before, because i want to downgrade to 100mbps.

today my house unifi BTU rebooting by itself when making or receiving voice calls, logged a complaint to TM unifi and onsite despatched and BTU replacement by TM's contractor.

2 hours later received TM restoration acceptance form with RM53 onsite charges and RM 500 BTU replacement cost.

After I change my DNS to Google's, I don't have that issue anymore

Currently I am on TM Unifi RM129 plan, with 100Mbps.
Current wifi router is DLINK DIR-850L (Black short cylinder shape)
Double storey terrace - 20' x 60'
Wifi router locate at ground floor TV cabinet

My usage as below:
1. Stock trading
2. Normal browsing (Facebook / Taobao / Email)
3. Working at home (VPN / Cloud storage)
4. FM Radio Streaming
5. Youtube Music Streaming
6. TV Box HD Video Streaming (Occasionally)
7. 2 persons living in the premise

Current internet speed: Happy, no issue, satisfy
Current wifi router: Not happy, sometimes disconnect without reasons.

Sometime I share screen using laptop on my Smart TV:
1. Laptop on 5Ghz wifi frequency
2. Smart TV on Wired LAN

Contract has just ended and planning the next steps:
1. To continue existing plan without renewing contract?
2. To renew contract with existing plan (maybe to get free wifi router)?
3. To downgrade to RM89 plan, with 30Mbps?

i think 30mbps is fine with u,since you dont torrent and only 2 persons sharing it.
but 30mbps not enought for 4k video streaming for sure.

<Question 2>
Previously I was using 2.4Ghz wifi signal to screen sharing, very laggy and keep DC.
Then I changed to 5Ghz, it works greater, but I feel like a bit of delay. Especially when I moving my mouse pointer, very hard to select object precisely on TV due to pointer movement delay.
Disconnection of share screen happen occasionally, maybe 5%~10% of chance.
Current wifi router DLINK DIR-850L is running its 5Ghz at AC1200, if I upgrade to any router that greater than AC1200, let say AC1750, do you think it will solve this problem?

<Question 3>
My 2nd floor wifi signal very poor even using 2.4Ghz signal. However, I rectified it by adding additional WiFI extender (DLink DAP-1330).
Current wifi router DLINK DIR-850L is running its 2.4Ghz at 300Mpbs. If I upgrade any router that greater than 300Mbps, let say 450Mbps or 600Mbps, is the wireless range will be improve, or still remain?
Considering I do not wish to use wireless extender due to energy saving.
(In this case, wireless range is the key concern, speed not important)

for wider wifi range, can try tenda ac18(budget version of asus ac68u)

If I upgrade router myself, I will prefer ASUS, but which model is suit my usage but not overkill?

c) RT-AC68U
d) any other model?

Just had a weird automated call saying that our connection is about to get terminated "in two hours" because we breached the term or something and asking us to press so many button.  Anyone ever had this?

I see. I dont think anybody in my neighbourhood have BTU laying around to sell. I guess I just need to make do without HyppTV and Internet as long as MCO stands. TM should rebate me for the monthly charges at least for the loss of usage

You never know till you check. I have 2 BTUs. For whatever reason, when TM came to change my BTU to a new one, they didn't take my old one back.
