rm329 for 800mbps is very painful... some are paying <1/2 of that.

i do not see them lowering prices after losing rm4bil with the "2x speed, 1/2 price" thingy after ge14.

can almost smell them pushing prices higher again.

but have to grandfather those paying low price/high speeds - until they terminate n their own for whatever reason.

... can u replace yr current STB with this box, use lan4 to get same quality UNIFITV channels?
or the new box is just using PLAYTV@UNIFI app whether u use lan or wifi?

.. if just using playtv app with wifi, what is reason for paying rm10x24 when u can get a similar or better box doing same/more for rm1xx?

if 300mbps now is priced at rm199, 500 800 should be like 249, 299.

but they know many 500/800 (free upgraded) are paying as low as 129 now.

guess they gave up and decided lock up the "disaster" in the cabinet for now.

1. Will u be migrated to new box using new UNIFITV, completely replacing old STB, same quality, 4k channel too?

2. Will u be migrated to new PLAYTV app v1.2.10?
As it is, those not migrated yet, u can only use old playtv app, now v7.9.11.
For yr ATV, 7.9.11 wont even work, can work with 7.9.8 only... which will die eventually.
Will 1.2.10 work on on yr ATV or some other nox... that is a key question... u will find out and tell us!

3. aotg will not work on yr ATV... that is well known, since new apk version.
Pls try the current apk on the new box, see if it will work.
This is also a key question.

If not mistaken, the additional 3 uses wifi, so it is using PLAYTV app... low quality video.
No difference if u use other boxes, same app, same quality.

The more interesting question is can this new box simply replace the old one on lan4 to get UNIFITV, incl the one new 4k channel.
We will know when the first people install it next couple of days n report back here.

channels will be full, same as STB on lan4... but the quality will not be same - but same as the playtv app on any box now.

i seriously doubt with just that new box on wifi, u get the HD quality like from the STB lan4.

the stream quality is not just about the box as that box by today's std is rather low end too... the bit rate they use is v low.

even with the most powerful box, the current playtv app quality still sucks big time.

anyway, we wait for actual users to confirm and comment.

again, u are very lucky that they allow u to do the downgrade with 12 month contract and let u save... so u pay even less.

others are not even allowed to downgrade unifitv or talk time to save, me included.

u hv no idea how good u already have it.

and please do make so much noise that u lose it in the end!

129 for 300mbps will already be a sellout, never mind the box plus.

a sign of what i was afraid of... in the new deal, there is this new box plus but works with the PLAYTV APP only.

old STB, silver or white, they work on UNIFITV, a built in app, dedicated and higher bit rate, better quality.

if so, u will have to call unifi, they arrange contractor.

i had a problem like that... gardener whacked/cut the cable.

they replaced the inside fiber core but patched the outside jacket - rm400.

I trust yr evaluation.

Form yr comments, the new black box works on an ATV app, unlike the silver one and white boxes with built in app.

But once the white box migrate to new app, it is not as good.

Silver box is non-android, cannot migrate, kinda stuck.

In terms of picture quality... from your and other comments..

1. Best is old silver box or white box non migrated... highest bit rate... only with stb, no apk for this.

2. Next is white box migrated and new black box, ethernet or wifi... running on ATV os v 1.1.4, lower bit rate but not too bad.

2a. There is v1.1.4 Modified... for use on other ATV devices... shieldtv, mibox, smart atv's... quality same as 2.

3. Then there is new playtv app for other regular android devices v1.2.10... quality about same as 2.

4. Old playtv v7.9.11.... worst quality, lowest bit rate.

U decide what u need n want or dun care....

Unifi.tv.hypp.@#$%... very busy... so many boxes, so many apps, so many apk... everyone busy... but no clarity, no transparency.
