anyone can share their WiFi/Router for Unifi 800Mbps, that has approx 1800 sq ft space? As there were so many new routers out there, such as WiFi 6 and Mesh types, I'm not sure which will be the best options.
*
Get the Deco M9 Plus.

"TM recently does some new installations which combined both modem and router, so you can't really change even if you want to"

Refer to above, may I know which model TM provide?
*
Netis. That is usually a combined modem and router model.

if you really tight budget & use 100mbps package, just get the mi router 3g price around rm100. flash padavan. it support vlan tagging. 300mbps u may need better router.
for 100mbps package any 5g router ok. diff story for 300mbps above
i donno why ppl use 100mbps package buying highend router. future proof?
*
Future proof and the hardware of the router is usually better.

Managed to grab this for Rm99 ..how does it compare to Tplink C1200?

Wifi coverage better or worst than C1200?
*
It probably doesn't have VLAN tagging. Looks good though, but have never heard or used it. Looking forward to hearing your opinion.

hello all sifu ,
my friend has an Unifi with 300mbps and he is going outstation for months due to working.
will it work if  i borrow his modem and connect to my unifi?
if yes, will i get 300 mbps or still remain the same for my current Unifi speed which is 100 mbps?

sorry for asking stupid question. hope to you from your expert advice. thank you very much!
*
You will need his modem, as well as his PPPoE username and password. Theoretically, it might work.

it seem there is some bug at the unifi D-Link DIR-850L router 2.12TM firmware release at 2019, Dahua imou Ip Camera Cloud Live Stream would Disconnect 99% of time, While LAN and Wifi Live Stream still working 100% of time, but 6 Models, 4 Brands of newer and older generation Ip Camera Cloud Live Stream would still working well 100% of time.

tried to reset and reconfig/setting manually without config backup and upload unifi D-Link DIR-850L router, bug issue still happen.

tried to Enable UPnP: ; IPv4 Multicast Streams: ; IPv6 Multicast Streams: ; Application Level Gateway (ALG) Configuration ; PPTP: ; IPSec (VPN): ; RTSP: ; SIP: ; and Multiple Port Forwarding, work a while and Cloud Disconnect again.

Enable DMZ: work but didn't spend the times to test it for how long, but DMZ work for only single device/IP.

Tested Dahua imou Ip Camera Cloud Live Stream with TP-Link Deco M4 v2 Latest Firmware 190917 , working 100% of time.

more Detail Report here : https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...&#entry97021190

subscribe and install unifi fibre 30mbps at December 2017, the unifi D-Link DIR-850L router came with newer Default Firmware 2.09TM , the Sticker at the plastic router casing and package box bottom has Firmware 2.09TM written, the big multiple Realtek Chipset security issue was fixed with this Default Firmware. never tried to play with different Region firmware upload & install manually with this router, the only firmware upgrade done was 2.10TM and 2.12TM , at router web interface Check for New Firmware.

tried to Flash unifi D-Link DIR-850L with newest international Firmware 2.23 with lastest fixes, 1st Boot to D-Link Router Recovery Mode and flash Middle Firmware DIR850LB1_FW210WWb03.bin , then router web interface Upgrade Manually DIR850LB1_FW220WWb03.bin , then DIR850LB1_FW223WWb01.bin , after that Restore To Factory Default Settings and reconfig/setting manually without config backup and upload.

with Latest international Firmware 2.23 , all [Dahua imou Ip Camera Cloud Live Stream would Disconnect 99% of time] issue was gone, now Dahua imou Ip Camera Cloud Cloud Live Stream was working 100% of time, same as all other [6 Models, 4 Brands of newer and older generation Ip Camera Cloud Live Stream would still working well 100% of time.] with all setting turned off [UPnP: ; IPv4 Multicast Streams: ; IPv6 Multicast Streams: ; Application Level Gateway (ALG) Configuration ; PPTP: ; IPSec (VPN): ; RTSP: ; SIP: ; Multiple Port Forwarding ; DMZ]

another issue happen since 2.12TM firmware also gone, System Log E-Mail, now it's also working 100% of time. this issue doesn't happen at 2.10TM firmware.

the D-Link DIR-850L international firmware doesn't have TM TR-069 and other customization, router web interface is much smoother.

Honestly, just get your own router. With all the time you waste on the rubbish bin router, you could have got a decent router.

Hi,

I've a question regarding the Unifi PlayTV. When we registered for Unifi about a year+ ago, we forgot to specify that we wanted the Varnam package and forgotten about it. We didn't use it at all. Now, since getting android tv box, wanted to give it a try and remembered about it.

Wondering if its possible to change it to varnam package and if there's any charges for it? How do i go about for it?

Thank you.

Not that I know of, the RT-AX86U is a great product from ASUS.

Perhaps the best product in their entire WiFi 6 lineup now. I like it better than the GT-AX11000.
You need to provide a budget.

Please use this thread instead.

You planning to review the RT-AX86U anytime soon? I’m thinking of upgrading my current router that have been EOL’ed by TP-Link and this router seems to be the natural choice for an overdue upgrade.

Hi guys.

On 30mbps mode. Recently got disconnected (frequently). After 10 to 13 hours, it will always never fail disconnect. Sometimes 10 to 15 minutes will reconnect back (Auth blinking).

Is this normal?
*
Router issue or BTU issue? If BTU, call TM. If router, try changing to a different unit and see if that helps.

Guys, i cant remember what speed is my unifi, but i know its fast, however when i check speedtest, only give me 20mbps, its ridiculous!!

user posted image

above is the result i got from my PC connected using cable to the wifi extender (https://www.lazada.com.my/products/tp-link-av1300-gigabit-passthrough-powerline-starter-kit-tl-pa8010p-kituk-i121745288-s542487539.html?exlaz=d_1:mm_150050845_51350205_2010350205::12:1032211143!54400014687!!!pla-422255087185!c!422255087185!542487539!135747330&gclid=Cj0KCQiAwMP9BRCzARIsAPWTJ_EF7drzdHgZtTjt92XTFfzEBQ6utQ-y3-TMV-cQ5eA0Kaa4H9fmA4EaAmQ1EALw_wcB) because the wifi router given by unifi is not able to reach 3rd floor of my house.

the wifi router was installed by unifi only give me average 40mbps only. how come?!

I have a unifi tvbox connected using cable, 4 phones connected to wifi, 1 iPad, 1 laptop (sometimes 2) connect wifi and 1 PC connect wifi extender. my upload also very bad, cant do my game streaming, will spike in game.

Any solution? is it because unifi decrease my speed without me knowing? I will call them up soon!!
*
Connecting to the power line to test your speed is a mistake. Connect directly to the router and test. The power line speed is affected by the wiring, power fluctuations, distance, interference, and a lot of stuff. That is why I don't recommend powerline. I used to use them a lot but stopped using them as I was getting unsatisfactory results like you are.

If you want better speed and better coverage, get your own router. TM's stock router is crap.

Hi ... I just install Unifi 30mbps today.

Just want to check whether the BTU & Router provided by Unifi any good.

BTU - FibreHome ONU - HG6240A
Router - FiberHome wireless router- SR120-A

I was expecting either TPLINK or Dlink router.

Thanks in advance for your comment
*
You can't change the BTU but you can change the router. I suggest that you consider if the router is good enough for your use i.e coverage and the ability to support multiple devices. If not, change it.

What are the changes for new unifi user who going to register next year ?

Just wanted to get any change on their hidden T&C

1.BTU and router given for 30mbps ,100mbps , 300mbps and etc
2.What other Promotion offer next year or this year end ? for official and agent side ?
3.Any pricing and speed changes ? free turbo and etc ?
4.Still monthly penalty when termination  ?
5.HyppTV still on ?

SilentVampire , At the isntalltion guide , does TM normally gives out BTU/ONU password to access our BTU ? and router admin password ?
For New user register or faulty BTU change.
*
No, they don’t usually give you access to BTU/ONU. They do give you router username and password, but just to be safe, be sure to ask for that information as well as information on your PPPoE username and password.

If they did not give , do we have the right to keep on asking ? because I saw there is a function on BTU which can auto restart BTU schedule on certain time.

btw ,I have question for those who install unifi.

Price asking TM to change BTU location or modem .lets say placing it at living room but later wanted to put at the room.
How much does TM will ask to relocate the BTU ?

Somehow , if we have optical splicing machine , i think we can DIY. Too bad , the splicing machine cost few K.If it's cheap will also buy it too.
*
Yes, you can ask but why would you want to restart BTU? It is quite stable.

You have to discuss with TM contractor about relocating BTU.

Hi there, I have a question to clarify about the router password given by TM, is it an one time password or it remains the same until it being asked again by the owner?  Say if I want to change to another router, can I still use the same password? Thank you.  smile.gif
*
PPPoE password is a one-time password that can only be changed by TM, and you can change router password yourself. Other forumers have helped you with that rclxms.gif

QUOTE(Maxieos @ Jan 2 2021, 06:40 AM)
As for lowest rm69 promotion packages 30mb , what BTU did we get ?  ( i did ask at previous post https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=findpost&pid=99428755 )

I read some of the post here , TM give us some cheap BTU and router. If you don't put a fan or restart them both a few times a every week , we will be getting slow connection.

Also , i see read a user post saying if BTU spoil need to pay to buy a new one and do own setting.
At BTU what setting we can change if connection slow ? if getting a new BTU from shope or laz ? must certified by unifi ? what setting to match the current BTU setting ?

Does resetting port = restart BTU ? because mostly on tech support 100 call by TM always asked to turn off the BTU.
Overall reason is have faster connection without overheat but turning off the BTU does help sometimes.

*
BTU is provided by TM, it is lifetime warranty. You can't change it by yourself. Just get it from TM if it is not working properly anymore. You can get your own router. BTU rarely overheat. I think you are confusing router with BTU.
