Hi guys, I need advice.
I'm planning to buy a Note 10 today.

How much do you think will be the resale value after 6 months? (Assuming Galaxy S11 is already available for purchase next year somewhere around March).

I don't keep my phones that long so I wanna know how much losses will I incur.

Thanks.

Hahaha I like the "it's now or never part" which is true btw.

Yes, I ordered Galaxy Note 10 just now through Shopee. As much as I want the SD855 variant, I need 2 physical sim cards.

I bought mine for 3015RM with 10% cashback in Shopee coins (earned 30,000+ coins) ~ 300RM.
So in total, the phone costs 2,700RM.

It will be my very first Note. My last Samsung was S10e (currently using Motorola One Zoom) but my smartwatch is Galaxy Watch Active which I bought in Lazada for 499RM when they went on sale.

I've been wanting to buy Pixel 4 but it's damn too expensive and they say the battery sucks so it's a no go.

Hopefully my Note experience will be a good one.

can PM me the seller? the price is so attractive.

and i'm wondering there is any issue to install local banking apps with these unlocked phone.

From T&L so it's not SME. I always buy from that seller (based in HK).

For Samsung Pay to work, you MUST factory reset the phone WITH Malaysia sim card inside. Else, it will default to where the phone originally came from.

Err... why not add Rm300++ more to get the + instead. It would be a much better buy.

Unfortunately I find it too huge for my small hands. It's also the reason why I considered Pixel 4 (not XL).

Actually, the S10e was the best compact phone for me.
However the Note 10 hits the best of both worlds for being both compact and having big screen.

Yes, and the rumor about S11e having 6.3 inch size is a real bad news sad.gif
Kinda weird in Android world, 5.8 inch is considered compact while an iPhone 11 Pro is the regular-sized phone.

Bro, can i know how did you manage to redeem the 10% cashback in Shopee? I tried to redeem while buying galaxy S10e but didnt manage to do so since the offer only valid using Shopee pay (but Shopee doesn't allow to top up more than RM1500 for Shopee pay account).

Appreciate if you or anyone else can help. Thanks!

The item itself should have a "10% cashback" banner (which T&L Telecom has).
Then you need to use Shopee app (not web) to purchase the item.
**Important step: Select the voucher for 10% cashback and so it will reflect how many coins you will earn when you purchase the item.

I don't know if i should laugh or cry but the Galaxy Note 10 i purchased from T&L Telecom is the single sim Snapdragon version. I've not opened the box yet but the packaging from the outside only has one IMEI number (i remembered my S10e having 2 IMEIs printed).

I need dual sim capability for my Philippine sim card. Anyway, T&L is my trusted seller from HK but i was caught by surprise. To be fair, he put a small phrase in their ad that the Exynos version is stock dependent so I should be expecting either. 😅

Update: my phone is a dual sim capable Galaxy Note 10 from Hong Kong and using Snapdragon processor. Weird.. I thought Sammy doesn't use Snapdragon for their dual sim variant.

Running SD is a bonus for me because all along I thought all dual sim Note 10s are running Exynos.

Asia region, HK set is the only one that is dual sim capable running Snapdragon processor, while the US market get the single sim Snapdragon. Europe and the rest of the countries get Exynos, including their very own Korea. Surprising isn't it?

Using the SD variant is definitely a bonus, if you're not a Samsung Pay user.

2.7k promo price (3k regular price from T&L minus 300rm worth of Shopee coins) is a good deal i would say. Still waiting for my case to arrive as I don't like the included TPU.

Yeah.. Too bad restore factory with MY sim inside doesn't work here. It worked with my S8 import set with Samsung Pay showing Malaysia perks.

Must have been disappointed before being elevated again 😄

I checked many many times online before jumping the gun.

Exactly how i felt!
I was down and up again when i opened the sim tray. Lol

Snapdragon never let me down when it comes to battery efficiency. Performance wise, I don't mind using Exynos because it also gets the job done.

There are two versions of the SD Note 10. One is single sim amd the other hybrid dual sim. Guess you gpt the single sim model.
Fortunately I got the dual sim HK set and using both sim cards already. The retail box only has one line of IMEI but it's the same as the phone so yeah.

Lucky you. US sets could be single sim models.
*
I've also learned that the US sets being sold here are from carriers like T-mobile, Sprint or AT&T.
Yes, they are unlocked but the telco logo is printed in the packaging AND also shown in the welcome screen.

You still have to flash the unlocked firmware with no telco branding to get rid of it.

I also saw buyers posting their package online. The box and even accessories look old (check Lazada/Shopee seller- AZ Tech).
I'm starting to think they are refurbished and sold "as new" units or phones that were returned to telcos.

Purchased from AZ Tech and arrived yesterday; Verizon variant.

I kinda agree of what you say because when I popped out simcard tray, there's Verizon simcard in it.
*
Thanks for sharing your experience.
There is a chance that it was used for a short period of time (Americans usually do this. Purchase and return items for whatever reason).
It can also be a brand new unit and only activated via the carrier (this is cheaper than purchasing an unlocked unit).

May I know if the device itself has the default plastic on the front and back?

Here you go--
https://shopee.com.my/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-1...0336.2733455059

Take note (pardon the pun) that the processor is a lottery. You either get the Exynos or Snapdragon variant.
But rest assured that it's unlocked and not from any telco (you either get HK or Euro set)

They also sell other devices at a cheaper price.
I've been their fan for a couple of years now eversince they started their online business in 11street.

No default plastic on the front as it has been applied free screen protector from AZ Tech.
But yeah, there's the default plastic at the back which i haven't peel off yet.
*
So the default Samsung screen protector on the front has been removed by AZ Tech then applied a new screen protector?
Is the default plastic back the one with the small flap at the bottom (like how you see in this picture)

If you guys are wondering why I am so keen in finding out if online sellers are selling refurbished Note 10 devices from US...

There are other online sellers of Note 10 from US where they are listed as "imported as new".

https://www.lazada.com.my/products/samsung-...1483484832.html?

IF AZ Tech is selling the same units but fool people into thinking they are new, consumers should complain to Lazada or whoever as he is trying to mislead and fool people into thinking they are actually new.

I once got conned in Lowyat when I bought the Galaxy S6 Edge many years ago. I bought it at 2,399RM from one of the stalls (it was priced 2,699 in Samsung) just to find out it was refurbished when I got home. (Too bad for the seller I am a techie guy and know what the box and paper works should contain AND checked the warranty status AND check the hardware itself, tada.. it was rooted lol) Not to mention the screen display itself looks off (not the quality Super AMOLED one).

So I went to Lowyat admin, complained. I was able to refund my money and the guy who sold the unit apologized in front of me and the admin.

I just pity if this happened to someone who has no knowledge in smartphones. For sure the seller could have laughed his way out of this situation.

As per your link in lazada..didnt the seller mentioned it is a used set?
*
Exactly my point. Isn't it coincidence that both refurbished and brand new Note10s are from the US?
Of all places that sell refurbished phones it HAS to be from the US as well.
Both refurbished and "new" units are sold in complete package with the units being sold by AZ Tech being "new" and more expensive so they include tons of freebies like wireless charger etc..

No, I'm not here to taint AZ Tech's image. I am just curious how these grey import works if it's from the US.
Even @tai_digidestany admitted that his purchase includes Verizon sim card right into the sim tray.

I just can't stand it if[U] online sellers are trying to fool consumers because I once got conned so and I don't want anyone to experience that.

Yes, exactly like that.

But as for the accessories, like the earbuds, it's not package like the little box; but instead inside a small plastic.
same thing goes for the charger and usb-c cable as well.
*
That is a huge takeaway already. All brand new units should come with the usual packaging.
You can check https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWG8EHOEFew

I would really really suggest you complain to Lazada or wherever you bought the unit.
Explain the situation because I really feel it's not right that online sellers are claiming them as new units but aren't.

Unless you don't mind it to be a used unit if you are contented with the price and the device itself.

Anyone has a SD device and able to perform auto update at least once?

@LiQuiD I have not purchase it, but I planned to do it tonight. Reading all these comment really hold me back  blink.gif

I bought recently an SD Note 10 but NOT a US set
This is a free ad for my trusted seller for years---
https://shopee.com.my/tandltelecom.my?order...=0&sortBy=price
I don't any commission from T&L but his business is legit and devices are relatively cheap.

He sells devices from Hong Kong with the proper 3-pin plug so no adapter required.
I was able to update it yesterday with the December 2019 security patch.

The default back plastic being there is a good sign that the phone is still new and haven't been used by end user, as claimed by the seller 👍
*
But the accessories are placed in plastic wrapper instead of the usual paper box that comes inside. smile.gif
It's easy to put a plastic film on the back but it's difficult to imitate the packaging wink.gif
