The first thing that i not really happy with is shutter speed for auto photo shoot. It is slower than any previous model of Samsung phone that i used. I am really speechless
*
This is so true. Tech reviewers either do not notice or too scared to point it out (probably for them not to be ignored in future Samsung events).

Funny thing is, the same tech reviewers criticize other OEMs when they notice if the shutter speed is slow.

And please, Samsung cannot give an excuse that HDR kicks in because HTC, Motorola, Google Pixel, etc all have this feature but Samsung's shutter is definitely slower than them.

is it because of the variable aperture? need to adjust before photo taking.
*
Not really.
The issue is that the device is prone to motion blur. It can't keep up when the subject is moving while you press the shutter button.

I'm not sure about iPhones but my Motorola One Zoom has better shutter response than my Note10 SD.

Is there any way to enable the new Android 10 gestures even when using a different launcher? I think Google Pixel 4 got an update to allow 3rd party launcher to use it.

I'm using the old Samsung gestures together with Samsung One Hand Operation+ app from Playstore so I can use the back gesture from the sides as workaround.

Update:

I'll try this when i have time

The one is for security patch Jan 2020.
I think just released today.

Android 10 update which on Dec patch.
*
My Note10 Snapdragon dual SIM received its FIRST Android 10 update together with Jan 2020 security patch 5 days ago. I was late for the Android 10 party but technically early for security patch lol

So far I'm liking the battery. Must be placebo but feels more efficient.

His sentence is correct. Not half correct, half wrong.
Read carefully guys smile.gif

That's why @Jeffreynsx said
"Time to update Android 10". Meaning, he wants to update his Android 10 with the Jan 2020 patch.

If he says "Time to update TO Android 10", then that is a different story.

But he could have just said "Time to update my Note10" or whatever to avoid confusion.

try reset the device with malaysian sim inside.

This trick doesn't work in any recent Samsung device.
The only way is to change your firmware to your country/region.

Yeah, seems like drop in prices not only affect mobile phones but other stuffs from Samsung as well. When I got the Fit, online platforms already selling for RM250 bro, hahaha...
*
I got my Galaxy Watch Active (1st gen) last year for 499RM. That was even before Watch Active 2 was released in the market.

Yeah, I tested a display unit at a Samsung store previously. The AMOLED screen is a big win though. Samsung still makes the best displays bar none.
That's the thing bro. I wanna see if a SD Galaxy flagship will give me better standby times - and of course, better signal reception smile.gif
*
I owned an S10e Exynos and currently using Note10 SD.
Standby time is definitely better (but not by much). What I like about SD is even screen on time is better. It's not as power hungry as Exynos.
But my HTC U12+ or any SD device I had which isn't Samsung has a better standby time.

In an ideal scenario, ultrasonic is a bit faster but optical FP is more reliable.
My Moto One Zoom can easily be unlocked without me being too careful how put my finger on the FP scanner area.

We can't compare batteries between the Note10+ and iPhone 11 because the latter has a low resolution which isn't even full HD.

even that's the case, i think the real culprit is IOS and Android. not even the screen.
coz in between when u shift between FHD and WQHD the differences is only 15 mins to 30 mins apart. claim some reddit. i never really try. but my phone i used fhd at first for 1st month. then until today all wqhd. not much of a difference really.
*
I beg to differ. The battery king in any benchmark/review is Moto G7 Power just because it has 720p display which is similar to iPhone 11's 800p.
Even the good battery on the iPhone 11 can't beat it.

Another thing to consider is the UI and software customization of Android OEMs.
There is a wrong perception that all Android phones are created equal.

Samsung has modified Android via One UI. Huawei also do it with their EMUI.
Nokia/Motorola both have clean Android One interface, where there is no customization whatsoever and only few additional apps here and there.

As for the difference in screen resolution, it is more objective as you compare numbers but people see it subjectively.
Android users are known to pixel peep a lot (because we know the difference among screen resolutions) whereas iPhone users don't really care to the point that some think an iPhone 11 has the same screen resolutions as its Pro counterparts.

Thanks for the clarification. Now that one is iron out, what about signal strength? Will it play a major role in draining the battery? I may not be the only one that have experience several drop call and very weak signal as compared to even a mid ranger phones in my office ( samsung J series and xiaomi ). I read thru and thru that this problem is very apparent.

Motorola have very bad battery life for the x series. i've used three of them n yes, the G series is nonetheless the better performer due to the low screen reso. But that does not mean it can beat the iphone in the same range category like the x2 and x4 which is terrible in battery performance.

But yeah, the ip11 and pro max do not really have any difference in a glance. To think it have the same reso is ignorant. But the difference is definitely there.
*
It's difficult to answer when it comes to "signal strength" as this is hardware AND software related. Remember that different brands use different hardware/chips to build their phones.
One thing is for sure- when you have weak signal, it draws more battery.

Just think of it like you are downloading something on your phone 24/7 (since some apps require background data processing).
A weak signal will definitely have slower internet so it takes more time to use your mobile data hence, more power is needed to stay your phone "awake".

Anyway, I had the OG X, X2 and X4. The X4 for me has above average battery life if i can remember.
I don't think there is anymore Android phone that is similarly spec'd as the iPhone 11 (flagship SOC with low display resolution).
This is actually Apple's advantage because now, consumers think that iPhones have the best battery life due to the iPhone 11.

Apple improved A LOT when it comes to camera especially in low light.
The low light advantage of old Samsung/Huawei/Google/HTC etc is now gone.

It's really difficult to compare OS because Apple controls iOS unlike Android where OEMs rely on.
I didn't really notice the weak signal from my Note10 just because I'm using the Snapdragon dual sim (HK) variant.
I hope it can be fixed by a software update.

Just asking. Where u got the dual sim hk version? Most online retailer selling SD single sim
*
From T&L Telecom.
It was pure luck as I was expecting Exynos but they have a disclaimer that the variant depends on stock availability.

All SD single sim being sold here are from US Carriers (Verizon, AT&T, etc...) with telco logo in bootup screen.
The packaging also has printed logo of the carrier.

My SD Dual Sim variant is a HK variant which isn't from any telco.
It's also a sealed boxed as expected.

Is it just my OCD or the new Galaxy S20 devices look ugly because they are not symmetrical. The back curves a lot more than the front.
When you view it from the side, the curvature on the top and bottom look aren't symmetrical either.

Just comparing it to how symmetrical in the S10 series (even Note 10) and all iPhones in general.

S20 front screen is longer using curved screen. They are using 2.5D this time. However, they still keep the curved design on the back. Probably for aesthethic purpose?
100 x zoom only available in S20 ultra, which is gonna be very pricey. Definitely more expensive than Note 10 pro. I think most people will go for the S20 plus, except for those photo enthusiastic
*
The design just doesn't look refined compared to S10/Note10 series.
There is no uniformity with the design so to me it looks like any other Android phone.
The plain looking camera setup is also a big no. They should learn from Huawei with the P40 renders.

I expect the Ultra to be pricey but I hope they retain the 2699RM price tag for the regular S20 just like the S10e.

Rarely see volume button broken

How do press your power button? It's very rare for someone to break the buttons because phones these days can withstand multiple presses, even surpassing the phone's lifespan.

Device Care is useless than ever in Android 10 since you cannot simply count your SOT from full charge anymore.

Samsung is trying to outsmart and mislead us by counting SOT on a daily basis even if you keep on charging your phone.

It will make users believe they have great SOT. lol

Compared to other flagships, it is bad. As much as I would want to defend my Note10 SD version, I can say the only benefit I get is great standby time compared to Exynos.

SOT could be better than the Exynos counterpart but I don't really think it's that significant. I could be adding an hour more SOT but overall, it can only last me a day of normal usage.

Still a great phone though. No complaints about the performance.

Certified QC 3.0 and Power Delivery charger.
Meaning, your phone will recognize it as fast charging.
You can use either USB C to USB C or the included USC A to USB C.
