i try to change the TRANSMISSION from AUTO TO MANUAL then choose 149 or 157 channel will do. The range will be better

As for mine, I get worst range when I change it to channel 149 or 157. Around 500m I will get a lot of inference. When using auto normally I can get more than 1000m.

Channels 149 thru 157 is 5.8 GHz. These frequency have less interference but only have a range of 500m (thus what you experience).

For long range, you still need to use 2.4 GHz. Switching to manual PRIOR TO LAUNCH allows you to choose a channel with least interference. Please take note as per Mavic Mini user manual, do not change frequency after take-off.

Also, as per DJI forum, switch off WIFI and Bluetooth (DJI did not mention 4G, quick check on the internet shows WIFI and 4G should not interfere with each other).

Edit: Spelling mistakes, added last paragraph.

bought the mavic mini and quickly regret of it's flight range..kinda hoping it as par as my current aged Mavic Pro as it's spec at max range are around 2k (CE model). Neverthess, it's pro are the excellent built up/size, commendable photos and vidoe and good safety system(RTH).

I just bought a parabolic signal booster and try it earlier. It did improve the signal strength/range in my housing area full with wifi interference.

Usually, it only reach max 200m with intermittent signal drop and disconnection.
With the signal booster, it could easily reach 250m without any signal lost and disconnection issue.

If you watch YouTube review you already know Mavic Mini will not be on par as Mavic Pro since they already reduce so much features in order to get 249g weight.

Agreed on the limitation, at my cases, just never expected the actual distance range are less that 1k (at avg height of 80-120m), far cry of 2km max LOS. Will explore the antenna modifications options.

A mavic pro or m2p will always be better at range and handling wind vs mavic mini. I guess for experienced flyers, mm is really a downgrade when compared to its bigger brothers.

However, as mentioned, the mm is great for its portability, quick deployment, relatively quick charging and as advertised, everyday fly-cam. I carry it wherever I go, just drop it in the car boot and I have a flying camera to do inspections or even getting a selfie whenever I need it.

anyone know which seller/shop are VSTECS Authorized Resellers for this DJI Mavic Mini? I prefer to buy from seller/shop that sell this drone come through from authorised distributor

I read from this two news tech blog said "VSTECS Astar Sdn. Bhd. (formerly known as ECS Astar Sdn Bhd) is a DJI authorised distributor and they are also appointed as a DJI Recommended Service Centre for aftersales and repair services in Malaysia"

If you on FC model and less WiFi interference. In town area better use 5.8 and stuck at 500m for FC user.

Edited: Just noticed after using FCC hack my 5.8mhz able to get more than 500m. I get up to 700m before losing signal

I read the regulations, pretty sure that's not legal.

*Also, hi everyone, new mavic mini owner here. I'm trying to do all the updates on the DJI Fly app, but when it tries to update "FlySafe Data" it is just stuck on 0% (tried over wifi, over 4G). I've left the thing to download and after 10 mins it tells my the drones processing chip is overheating and so I turn it off.

Any other users able to advise? Does it just not update for us? Or am I doing something incorrectly?

Thanks!
