I wear glasses n I just use a buff instead of a balaclava...i tend to lick my lips alot so balaclava x best coz itll get wet hahahah

DD ring may be the safest out there but that doesnt make the micrometric strap unsafe...its still a pretty good system...alot of ppl tend to treat non DD like its a disease simply coz DD is rated as safest. If micrometric unsafe doubt itll pass ece testing.

Anyway..there is a way to convert DD to clip style easily...

Claims to surpass snell standards...i ordered one from ebay couple of years back but i cancelled it coz accidentally ordered wrong color n never got around to re ordering...now got this on shoppee i think im gonna reorder after i get my helmet liner reupholstered.

anyone familiar with this brand, bilmola? are they somewhat decent?

Just got my lesen and have been using the helmet provided by the riding school, bout time i get something decent. considering getting tt corse or a bilmola (maybe a rapid s). have not tried either helmet yet
any other alternatives will be appreciated. thanks!
*
I bought my son the bilmola rapid s. Not a bad helmet..i tried it on when at the shop and it fit me great and also comfy. The helmet design is also quite nice...only thing is they all have graphics n i prefer plain black.

Didnt get for myself coz no drop down sun visor...n yeah id recommend it

Actually my size is 48cm to be exact and that translate to a 4XL.

I ordered online (HJC i90 5XL) but the customs blocked it (POS Malaysia near the airport)! I opened the box infront of them and fit the helmet which is perfect! Not loose or tight! They didnt let me take the helmet and told me to get a JPJ approval which I did and got denied. So I ended up to return to seller.

I found one half face in Shoppee but you know its not that genuine, but what to do?

I want a full face and the most important is a safe and reliable helmet. But this ruling that you we have, here in Malaysia is bias for big size head. They should have at least exceptions.

If you can recommend a shop or a number to contact to buy a full face helmet then I appreciate it and thanks in advance!
*
Why jpj denied? Ive been thinking of ordering from revzilla..n which site u ordered from?

Have u tried asking nks in sentul.if they can order for u? They are hjc local distributor

I message in HJC FB but they said only 3XL

If your helmet got E marking inside and at the back of the helmet there is a slim chance that the customs will let it slide and you can take home your helmet. Or if the customs is in a good mood.

How to contact sentul?

*
the helmet i want to order should have E mark... i actually already own the helmet and mine has the E mark.... but i wanna get a replacement coz its about 6 years old and quite worn now and theres no local sellers here...not sure if US versions will have the E mark on them coz they not into E mark and DOT instead :x

sentul is the name of the place...the HJC FB is actually ran by a shop called NKS in Sentul....

I had tried to email AFX directly and they dont have the E marking on my size (4XL).  cry.gif

I don't think any of the manufacturers do ECE certification for those sizes. doh.gif

I just hope to find a full helmet (branded) here in MY. *wishful thinking* icon_question.gif

Have u tried going to one of those shoei custom fittings? They might be able to do something for u...was quite often before covid in klang...not sure if they still have it.

I assume local brands like mhr, lts n stuff wont have ur size right?

Ever looked at lazer helmets?

Wanna tumpang to ask for suggestions on helmets for high speed usage.

Currently am using givi m30.3 but strong wind is pushing my head backwards at speed above 110kph, which hurts my head n neck

Mostly the AGVs... like AGV K1 K3 K6...heard feedback from a Z800 owner and he said his K3Sv cuts thru the wind really well

that being said i am also using M30.3 and go up to 140kmh just fine... sometimes more.... wat bike u riding and wats ur wind protection like?

Hi all sifu,

Any helmet to recommend??? Currently using a free helmet from shop and perkeso…

Both are 60cm and will make me headache after 15 minutes ride because too small and crushing my skull…

Tried Zeus open face XXL also same feeling…

Any recommendation for fullface around 400 to 600???
*
u could look into Bilmola helmets... tested it before and it fits my head quite well and is quite comfy. they are based in setapak iirc.

also not sure if they have ur size but u can always inquire via FB.

Sifus, seeking to replace my trusty ol 5 years old HJC IS MAX II. Any recommendation? Or is i90 good enough? Looking for modular. If can, lightweight. But I guess, with a budget of around rm1.5k, can't really go lower than about 1.7kg, right?
*
1.5k is a decent budget... i bought my HJC Rpha 90 for around 1.4k during promo last time.. u could try find one in case somewhere has old stock.

Lazer MH6 at LSH Racing World is around 1550g for L. ive never tried it but its something you could look into. they also have caberg helmets, i think the Caberg Droid is the modular they have there now. some AGVs as well... but AGVs will be expensive obviously.

Helmet cam
Get action cam

Either one of these two will be very good
Cheaper and better than GoPro in some way
Insta360 one RS , about rm1200
DJI osmo action3, about rm1600
*
If wanna make high quality content for utub etc ok la those cams...but for normal dvr purposes kinda videos, can just get SJ4000 AIR and get this case from AliExpress

https://a.aliexpress.com/_mO8NzTG

Has dvr loop function, Good image quality, stabilization depends on ur head, n with that case, can charge while riding..even if its raining (if u setup the other end of the cable to be water proof)...no need to buy multiple batteries or change batteries every hour 😁

How to know if the helmet has real ece or just a sticker hmm.gif
*
look at the e-mark on the strap...even official documentation for ece legality in malaysia only refers to the e-mark and not the ece sticker on the rear.

example of tag here: https://www.bikesrepublic.com/wp-content/up...t-1-696x522.jpg

note that actually helmet visors also need to have their own e-mark to be street legal...but this is usually not enforced or ppl dont even know about it.

what sort of safety tests sirim do on these helmets?
curious.
*
Im not exactly sure..but ive heard the testing is similar to ece tests...

Some has even said its better than ece as ece only does drop test once while sirim does it twice..no idea of the truth in this.

I think theres is a video on youtube from years ago abt sirim helmet tests...

As for sirim cert....heres a quote from my email correspondence a few years ago when i asked abt gettin a sirim sticker for my already ece certified personal helmet.

"Biasanya helmet yg mendapatkan pelekat SIRIM adalah untuk dijual kerana prosesnya melibatkan audit di kilang dan testing."

So i conclude myself that sirim cert is more for locally produced helmets as factory audit is required and i doubt sirim wanna travel overseas to audit overseas brand helmets.

As for jpj sticker, dont think its for local brand...as local will have sirim....i think the first brand to have that sticker is kyt when they first started getting popular...n kyt is indo brand that, at the time, only had indos sni cert n no ece.

for guys with big size head I've been burned may times. Helmet size double XXL and measurement as per size chart but when worn it is small and not fit. Even from the same manufacturer size can differ.

They usually give excuse that shell is the same size only the thickness of the padding determine the sizes which sucks. But recently I bought MHR and it fits like a glove, legitimately roomy and did not pressed on my ears. I am now MHR for life.
*
Which is why must always go test a helmet at the shop n never buy online....unless ur buying the same helmet for a 2nd time.

Roomy? Didnt press ears? U sure u got the fitment right? A helmet is supposed to be snug...not roomy.

How do you guys wash your helmet? and what did you use to clean it?
*
inner padding i remove and dump it into a laundry bag/net and dump it in the washing machine n drier along with my other laundry at coin laundrys... specifically laundrybar coz thats where i go the most.

the rest of the helmet, if im in the mood to do it, i just spray with water in my toilet using the shower head n soap it down with shampoo usually both the exterior and interior....leave to dry indoors for a few days (straps need time to dry). once dry i take a damp cloth to wipe the visors to remove any water stains and wipe dry.

Btw is GSB helmets good/decent ? Specifically GSB S-361.
*
seen this helmet around... looks nice... but dunno quality....quick check on youtube i can see emergency release pads....

but i wont consider this specific model.. doesnt looks like it has the inner sunvisor which to me is a must in my helmets.
