But ayam ride kapcai only..will look overkill when riding sweat.gif
*
dont care about overkill... think of it as ur first step towards a big bike heheheheheheh

devil.gif

actually within ur budget can get the Lazer MH5 flip up as well...looks to be quite decent and weight wise oso not bad for a flip up at 1550g for large.

not sure if the half face helmets are still legal in malaysia... but in malaysia u need ECE or Sirim to be street legal... if it only has DOT is not street legal.

Hi all , anyone using MT Helmet ATOM SV ?
*
ive had it for a couple of years i think....feature-wise its quite good....but i really dont like it....its so heavy... i ride a naked bike and the aero on the helmet is pretty bad which forces my head to be pushed back by the wind above 140kmh hurting my neck, add the weight to that, ouch. wind noise is weird as its very loud on the left side only while the right is not too bad. build quality is meh, my visor will not stay up and will close halfway right in my line of sight blocking my vision.

when brand new, it seemed to fit fine, but after awhile the padding started to get softer where it wont fit my head shape again properly and there will be times when my head will hurt alot wearing it.

so i avoid wearing this helmet most of the time.

and i truthfully wanna sell it off as i recently finally managed to get enough money to upgrade to an Rpha90.

would highly recommend increasing budget abit and look at other flipup alternatives such as Lazer at LSH Racing World... anything around the 1.5kg mark or below should do fine.. the atom is 1.7kg

Hi all, sorry if someone asked this before, any recommendation for a ff under RM300? (Prefer some retro looks one if possible). Currently eyeing on the SGV Bubble Full Face (abit above RM300 haha..) would consider modular (LS2 FF370), but i heard complaints that modulars are heavier?

FF vs modular, which do you recommend?
*
modulars are definitely heavier as they have the whole flip up mechanism to add to the weight unlike fullface which doesnt move. they are also usually pricier

cant recommend any retro full faces coz i dont like them so theyre not on my radar

*
huh?? chin part fall off? u mean those detachable chin bars? those type of helmets the chin bars has zero protection wan la... only thing it protects u is from bugs getting in ur teeth.... theyre just soft pieces of plastics

He could be referring to this story: https://motorbikewriter.com/are-modular-hel...afe-in-a-crash/
Interesting comments below, do take a look, particularly on the Nolan importer's comments.

Given that chin injury is one of the highest, really must latch on properly on a modular helmet.
IINM, some or few modular helmets are SNELL certified.
*
this could be just a one off fluke.... as mentioned, this is also the first report of a nolan opening up. but yes, i believe the angle of crash and impact location casing distortion is what caused the helmet to open up.

whatever the testing or safety ratings done, ppl need to realize that it should NEVER be considered as final... alot of ppl do this. its just a guideline.

just coz in a test by snell, ece, sharp or whoever says that its 100% wont open... doesnt mean it wont open in a real live crash. tests are done in a very specific way in a controlled environment... real life crashes are definitely not the same as there waaaaaaaaaaaayyy too many variables - chaotic environment/conditions.

Anyone know who is the distributor and where I can claim warranty?
*
i know a shop (quite big name in KL oso) who used to sell the MT Helmet Jet helmets (forgot the model name). they decided to stop selling coz they had so many warranty claims from buyers for the sun visors but MT Helmet wont entertain the warranty claims and the shop had to repair the helmets themselves - their own manpower and their own cost. coz of that they refused to sell MT Helmets anymore.

Currently looking at Scorpions exo 2000 and Zeus' new 1800B carbon helmet.
*
Update us which one u get... quite curous about those helmets.

u could look at Lazer MH5 too if its still available. or could also look at Scorpion ADX-1 n remove the peak if u like that style and willing to top up a lil more.

holeshot motowear has modular helmets from Acerbis which was under RM1k.... was following my friend who was looking for helmets and we really liked them but didnt buy it coz the designs didnt suit his taste.

he ended up with the Atom SV despite me telling him i dont agree to it... now even he has head pains with the Atom and he hasnt even used it that much laugh.gif

QUOTE(alexei @ Aug 6 2021, 10:36 AM)
For protection, look for ECE standard.
*
not just protection.... but legality as well... to be road legal here u need to have SIRIM or ECE. if ur helmet has SNELL but not SIRIM or ECE pun considered not road legal.

Guys,

What's up with this Ruroc helmet? I've seen a lot of memes about them on social medias, YT, and reddit. Seemed that they refused to have their helmets certified and instead of asking for their buyers to give a recommendation.

A visit to their site seemed that their helmets are mostly pre-order items and the price is  rclxub.gif
*
ruroc has been making skiing helmets for years n couple of years ago started to make motorcycle helmets. their helmets are ECE certified.

those helmets look damn cool... unfortunately there has been quite a few complaints about the build quality and overall execution of the helmet. (dont look at big motovloggers like chase, walter etc who will give rave reviews about them coz sponsored vs youtube videos of those who actually bought the helmet)

the helmets are full CF and do have some nice features so the price kinda justifies....but i wouldnt spend that kinda money on the poor build quality.

A good modular will feel less windy than a good full face. Full face need wide bottom opening wind will come in from around you neck. Modular have tighter neck padding but a good modular will have a better fitment in the hinge and joints where the wind can come it.

I tried this from testing schuberth c3pro vs 1st gen hjc rpha 10 a while back.
*
although not arguing with ur logic about the padding.... coz i agree with the logic but...

i think u should retest with a different full face to properly know the difference. coz ur comparing a helmet known for its quietness vs a helmet known to be noisy.

the rpha series are known to be loud as hell lol

Guys, I'm looking for a second helmet for daily use. Right now I'm still using trusty old arc discovery bought back at 15 years ago and doing great but got wear and tear already. Right now I'm eyeing for kyt nfj because I like Petronas livery, hjc fg jet and shoei j-cruise 2. How's kyt compare to hjc helmet? And what about hjc? Does it good? I'm familiar with shoei but I wish I don't need spend rm2k for helmet.
*
For the hjc...to put into perspective, my friend and i have the same modular mt helmet...same size model.etc...he actually tested mine n liked the fitment n bought for himself...he also bought a hjc jet helmet (forgot model)...he hated it..but when i try that helmet i loved it..fitment was nice n super.comfy...i also.like that the cheek area goes a lil lower than most other jet helmets...its definitely.comfier than my givi jet helmet but since i ride a naked, i feel the givi cuts thru the wind better. So end of the day still best to try it urself to see...coz someone may like it but u may hate it.

And to add to ur confusion, look at the lazer tango sr helmet available at lsh...abt rm500. Thats a jet helmet i wanna buy coz it was so comfy when i tried it on and it looks damn good with a visor that has a sharper profile than my givi (to cut thru the wind) and also looks like it goes down a lil further than my givi

Thanks all for the reply...will check around and see which is suitable. Like all mention...need to test the helmet to get the feel. Planning to get open face x 1 for local ride and ff x 1 for longer journey. After reading all sifus opinion here..might skip modular due to budget reason as well as weight.

Currently eyeing on Givi M30 series..either m30.1...2 or .3..any feedback on these helmet..seems like cant go wrong with Givi stuff..am I correct to say so..?

What about Givi vento 50.1 or .2..? Any review on these stuff as well.? Hardly found review internationally on Givi helmet that sold locally on utube...

Thanks for all feedback and input..

🙂😊
*
Ignore m30.1 n get .2 or .3...those come with sun visors..i have the m30.3 n i ride a naked bike...comfy n high speeds the helmet doesnt get pushed by the wind as much as others ive tried. Couple of friends has the m30.2 n they are happy with theirs too.

M50.2 for the sun visor though ive never used it before..

u could also look at lazer helmets sold at lsh racing world if they r within ur budget..

Lazer tango sr open face is ard 499
Lazer rafale sr ard 799

Ive tried both n they are really comfy

no. get a proper full face helmet.

the peak will catch wind and make ur neck hurt and itll be annoying.

Yes, got E-mark white label on chin strap
*
this shows the helmet is ECE 22.05 certified.

this chin strap is more important than the sticker on the rear of the helmet. if u look at the documentation for helmet certifications, they mention nothing about the sticker but only about the tag on the chin strap.

depending on how its installed on the strap, it can come off (unfortunately). mine came off in one of my helmets... luckily i caught it and i epoxied it to the inner side of the helmet to ensuire i always have it.
