I'm looking for a comfort tire, low noise for my car. I know I can't get both comfort and performance tire. That's why I'm looking for comfort tire without sacrifice too much on performance.

I'm looking for tire size 195/55/15. So far, my survey got few choices as below;

Michelin XM2+ - RM205-220 (same comfort like primacy 4?)
Hankook Ventus V12 evo2 K120 - RM200 (So far one of the tire that has good and many review on it)
Goodyear Assurance Triple Max 2 - RM150 (Currently using ATM1, quite good in performance but a bit noisy)
Yokohama Advan Fleva V701 - RM220-230 (Most said better take v12e2 instead this)
Continental CC6 - RM150 (The best in comfort but I think I will skip due to many review said it is bad in performance and dangerous during raining)
Continental UC6 - RM200 (maybe this? but too few good review on it)

Right now I keen more on XM2+ and V12e2. (maybe ATM2 also?)

Need sifu here to help giving your opinion especially to those who already tested the tire.

Thanks.

Can confirm Cc6 wet is just not good. Actually dry Cc6 quite good, because soft compound

There's a lot tered on this topic. I have seen people stating Yokohama BlueEarth and Hankok V12 as a good compromise between Comfort and Performance. I have used the old Michelin XM2 and it's really a good all-rounder tyre - relatively quiet, good wet performance, with lower rolling resistance for better fuel consumption. XM2+ would solve the tyres cracking after 3-4 years.

Not many choice for good comfort & performance tyre at 15' rim. Most good tyre start with 16 or 17 inch rim like Primacy & Turanza. Anyway Continental Ultra Contact6 among good comfort & performance start at 15inch rim, made in Malaysia.

Last time had cheap good tyre, Neuton NT8000, performance nearly like PS3 but good comfort.

Can consider going for Michelin Primacy 4 ST.

Best quiet and comfort tire in its class... and RM258 per corner.

primacy 4 st vs xm2+ which one better..

cost wise of course xm2+ cheaper..

i used both xm2 and primacy 3,

xm2 clocked 100k mileage..but noise is obvious and cracked at the end of its life cycle,

primacy 3 is a bit better, clocked 120k and still no cracked but getting louder noise..

Primacy 4 is much better than XM2+.

XM2+ is considered as budget tire.

Primacy 4 is catered towards large comfort sedans (Camry, Accord, 5-series, etc).

---

I'm currently using Pilot Sport 4, will change to Primacy 4 once the time comes.

hmm you might want to check your car tire's alignment.

By right the whole tire should wear out evenly.

between 60 and 55, the size difference is minimal.

Your rim is able to fit it.

However, need to check whether the extra 5% will kena your wheel arch... I dont think it will la.

Whats your car model?

We are in the same boat TS.

My current list is Goodyear ATM2, but I'm not sure if I should top up to get XM2+.

Get the V12E2, way much better than the overpriced XM2! V12E2 is UHP category while XM2 is just low end eco category tire. V12E2 is only around rm165-170 for that size, not 200! If you're considering XM2, might as well buy the PS3 coz just slightly higher price yet do much better UHP category tire. But again V12E2 is better value for money than PS3 coz much cheaper for about the same performance.

As for the rest, just forget about them!

Genuinely curious, I see a lot of people preaching UHP tires regardless of a person's requirement, but does UHP really meet everyone's need? What if the driver just wants quiet and comfortable tire which has a tread wear that lasts forever, is UHP still appropriate for this kind of use case?

He asks for comfort with minimal sacrifice of performance so I think the V12E2 fits the bill. It's still UHP but pretty silent with relatively soft sidewall hence also pretty comfy ride. IMHO it's a pretty well balanced tire in all those criteria. Other choices like Cc6, Uc6, XM2 are geared towards just comfort and durability but sacrifices a lot on performance, basically lousy grip! Anyway the main function of tire is to transfer power to the ground and give change of directions, so grip performance must always be higher priority and the others are secondary.

Fair enough. Thanks for your sharing.

But still seen a lot of UHP preacher preaching UHP in topics where the topic starter's priority was comfort, silent & longevity. Sometimes I'm confused whether does UHP really fit all kinds of use case.

Which shop recommend you this Yokohama Fleva model? This is UHP tire and not for comfort, low noise tire

Yokohama Advan Fleva V701 - RM220-230 (Most said better take v12e2 instead this) doh.gif

You should get Yokohama Advan db V552 to match ur criteria and not this Fleva..
